Hi J, you may have helped me - thank you.
If we saved more vs OP, the interest really would not be a lot - as an example FD 8% account, max paid in per month and still only £176 ish interest in a year. Plus high rate tax payers so tax to pay.
I cannot believe how this topic has me in such a pickle as I am usually decisive.
Perhaps if I had a B2L portfolio I would be taking a more disciplined approach but my only desire is to be MF. Mr Tilly would like us to save more cash after being MF whereas I just want to stop work - who knows what the future holds.

Good morning, quick bank account tidy of £1.90 so that will have me MF in no time :rotfl:
I called the bank last night to discuss my MF date and although tight, they agreed with my calculations so that was good news. I find FD very professional and straight forward and after the Spanish bank that is extremely refreshing.
Lodger is now back and it's lovely having more people round the dining table. Kids have started back to their various activities and it feels like autumn is on the way.
Just about to do a little more ironing and then working in the office today. I managed to get all the washing finished and dried on the line yesterday.
That's it for now. Another NSD on the cards and tomorrow will definitely be the same.
We need to switch our gas and electricity so that will have to be a jb for this evening.

Tilly - all those £1.90's add up
With the gas and electricity, do you just work out how many KW hours of energy you have used and then use a price comparison? Our electricity is fine (£10/week) but our gas is extortionate and we will need it on more this winter so I'm wondering how to switch it!1 -

Hi Ammonite, Mr T worked out actual usage over a year and then went via TCB to a switching site. I think he will probably switch us today but there may be a bun fight as BG tie in doesn't finish until nearer end of September.
Have a go as its worth doing

Sorry Tilly about hijacking your thread.
Ammonite, if you look at your previous bills, the annual consumption of gas and electricity will be mentioned there. You just put that figures in the comparison site and switch through them or through a cashback site. HTH.

It takes 3 to 5 weeks for the switch to happen. So you can do the switch now through the comparison site and it will be past the tie-in period by the time the switch completes.Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74
