Morning, just ordered a few it's from George for DS. School shoes, sports shorts. 10% TCB at the moment on school wear.
Off volunteering in an hour or so. Dogs are coming too
Kitchen cupboards, fridges, freezer well stocked and bargainous shopping to focus on fish or meat, as other stocks are fine.
Lodger away with work for a few weeks, so money and no guest. That sounds like a perfect lodger to me.
My weight is creeping up and needs tackling again. I lost loads of weight early in the year and need to lose it. It gets tiring as you get older to maintain a balance. Right no point whining, am off to have scrambled eggs.
Have a good day and hope the rain stays off. We have a few garden jobs to do late afternoon and it would be preferable, in August , to do them without wet weather gear on.

Bliss - how to you find having a lodger anyway? We're considering advertising spare dbl room for the 6 months OH will be away next year. He thinks I need the company and I think the money would be handy!Tilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »Right no point whining, am off to have scrambled eggs.
Scrambled nice, we were big fans of scrambled but have merged into dippy (boiled) recently. We really need to get chickens the amount of eggs we eat. Also I found out the lady at the market who has a small holding with hens was more expensive than free range in the supermarket!!!
Hope the weather holds off for you. We got ours all done last weekend in blistering heat! Only two horse fly bites for me - swelling mostly gone now but the bruising is still brightly coloured!Tilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »We have a few garden jobs to do late afternoon and it would be preferable, in August , to do them without wet weather gear on.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.1 -
Hello Tilly and hope you have a good day. May I ask what you do with your property abroad? Do you let it or is it just for your own use? We have friends buying in Spain at the moment and it has got me thinking.....
Squirrel:jPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D1 -
Morning Tilly (and super brainy DD:A) on the weight balance thing have you read about the 5:2 diet?
You can google it and it was a Horizon programme that is now on Youtube, Eat, Fast and something else about living longer / younger, sorry.
Anyway really interesting, basically you restrict yourself to 500cals two days a week and the other five you have normal amounts etc.
I'm planning on doing this once i've finished the current one!Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Hi MRN, I can highly recommend having lodgers. We have had two and now down to 1. Will start again next tax year. We provide good accommodation, fair price, bedding changed one a week, fresh towels etc. Own bathroom, or if two lodgers to share. Same sex lodgers only as it makes bathroom easier if there are two.
Gardening looks promising as the sun has come out. I thought we may be don't it in wellies

Hi SSS, we let the house to family and friends. It's not to make money as we charge very little, but it keeps it occupied and off sets some of the cost of running it. It works well as people have a cheap home from home holiday and we have the house looked after.
It is a commitment but, if like us, you want to retire there, then it made more sense to us to buy sooner.
Good insurance is a must. PM me if you want any more information.

Hi PWD, will have a look at a you T, once the gardening is finished. I have seen you mention it on your diary, so will definitely investigate.
Miss T has slept like a log since her results. It must have been playing on her mind for a long time. She hasn't stopped smiling yet :j

Ooh I'd love a holiday home in Spain Tilly! Sounds wonderful

Managed half the gardening tasks and then we were rained off. Torrential rain, thunder, lightening. Hopefully can carry on tomorrow.
LSD opposed to NSD. No food shopping done at all. I will need to buy something for S&S tomorrow
. Off for an M&S bargain hunt at the garage later tonight.
I seem to have lost my cooking mojo. Given how much I love cooking this is a but strange and there's no reason for it either. Maybe I need a break for a while.
Volunteering was great and DD and I took a couple of hours today for 'girlie' time.
Enjoy the bank holiday weekend.

Hi Ammonite, our home is in Portugal on the west coast. Will eventually live there so vested interest on many levels, to clear the mortgage :T:T:T
Hope all is going well - you are working through your larder and freezer well
