  • Hi GG, Mr Tilly says "you may not have noticed but all bar Mo are no longer with us" so his decision was the right one :)

Anyway, Tilly Olympics on hold until Friday - getting more by the minute as DS is building up the 'punishments' for the parents.

I can tell we will be crying with laughter - can I cycle laughing :)

Off to make a cold drink

Fair point Mr T, fair point. Though slightly unrealistic considering their dates of birth :D.

I guess I'll be tuning back in on Friday to see how the family Olympics went then!

Skipping ropes are being hunted out in readiness for Friday, so I guess I had better locate my sports bra - sorry to any gentlemen readers :)

What a fab weekend it has been. I really do feel as though we have had a holiday.

Planning on 4 NSDs this coming week - results day on Thursday so may (or may not ) be a spendy evening.

Just editing to add that the Tilly Olympics will only cost the price of the picnic bits and hopefully an ice cream, if we see a van - the fun it has given the kids so far in planning it has been great to see, mainly generated by the amount of torture to throw at the parents :) and all for free :):):)

Ahoy there Tilly and fellow MFW'ers!

Yikes, not sure how long it is since i've been around, it's got to be at least a month :eek::eek::eek::eek:

All I say is that things have been mad mad mad, nothing awful I might add, just what with holidays and a new job I'm meeting myself coming backwards :D

I hope everyone is well? I'm now off to update my signature and hopefully over the rest of the week I will get a chance to read lots of your lovely diaries and even add to my own :rotfl:

    Regards

  • Hi ATT, glad to hear from you. Job sounds fab.

Life is racing by at the moment and I would quite like to know how to out the breaks on.

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Morning, yesterday was a NSD, today will be the same.

Lodgers room/food money OPd, so all back up to date. Money switched to H@lifax so another £5 to OP soon.

Thanks for reminding about free money ATT:

    Clubc@rd: £179 + £2.50 building up
    Nect@r: £12.84
    B@@ts: £37.31
    Am@zon: £245

Not far off £500 all free money - quite amazing.

On a downside, I was averaging a free movie visit a month, but they seem to have dried up over the last month or so.

Packed lunch ready for work, I am eating far more fruit as snacks.

Walking the dogs has taken a hit over the last couple of days as we seem to have come down with a bug. Not great when everyone in the house is feeling ropey.

Right, I need to crack on and do some ironing.

Have a good day, Tilly x

  • Evening, I sat and wrote down our ages over the next few years. For the next 8 years, with the exception of two years, we have significant birthdays every year :eek::eek: How come I never realised that before :o

50th and 18th, 18th and 21st, the list is endless. Will need to do a little planning to up the birthday savings, as more than my normal budget will be required. Whilst I won't be going mad, these occasions have to be marked and a little planning will be necessary.

NSD achieved and lunch for tomorrow is made. Almost GCSE result time :T:eek::T:eek: (using both as not sure which is most appropriate :))

Wednesday tomorrow, rolling on down to the weekend :)

  • Good morning, I will be finishing work soon for a couple of weeks off. Looking forward to a well deserved break.

Will be going out for dinner on Thursday to either celebrate or commiserate GcSE passes - as a parent you want your kids to succeed and do well etc but at this age it's down to them now. Guidance is one thing, their desire to achieve their goals is their own.

Back to money: meal on Thursday from entertainment pot. Amost at £10 with S&S. 10k points off £15 with Tolun@.

Money switched to H@lifax and will switch back today. I had decided to save the reward money but I am OPing it. There's enough being saved in the various pots for entertainment, car maintenance, birthdays and Christmas.

We are being very strict with the cash and spending. The kids have been amazing and the family NS challenge has worked for us all. DS is saving for a book he wants, DD is saving for a jacket/coat so we all have reasons for keeping our money in the bank/bldg society. DD particularly has chatted to me about how financial education in schools works and how they would benefit from personal financial management. Roll on :money: financial education I guess. By involving them in our journey everyone is doing their bit and we are all learning. Plus they have looked back at our lives and have said we had some great times and travelled, but they can see how expensive that was. They have the memories, albums to treasure and next batch of travelling will be for them to do as they start their adventures. Seeing the kids now though, I know they will have savings pots and will have the cash to travel, rather than bung it on a card.

Sorry this post is a bit long. Sometimes there are things I just need to get out of my head and must be at the back of my mind.

Right, ironing to do before work now.

Have a great day and soon be Friday :T
