Morning payday - decision taken not to OP this month but offset the cash in a mortgage savings pot. Given that I don't want to go back to using an OD, it was getting a little close for comfort - I know I could have moved savings around, but that seemed liked cheating, hence the NS challenge for the family.

Overall amount owed to the world is now £258,500, should have been less, but spending blip this month caused a major issue. This means we will not hit £250k target for next month. I can't complain though, given where we have come from :T

    Looks like rain today

You've made fabulous progress Tilly, well done :T.

    Have a good payday :D.

You have done brilliantly Tilly so don't worry about being one month behind for your target - a marathon not a sprint! :D

I'm about to start running backwards I think. Our beautiful mortgage savings pot may be being turned into our next "house renovation" savings pot :( Needs must and it is for the best in the long term, just frustrating :/

 that makes it seem so much closer. This year is flying by!
  • Morning Ammoite, the savings you have made this year will be a big help to the renovations. It's a constant battle to wrestle the finances under control and there is always something which needs to be done.

On a brighter note though, we are all in a better position because of MSE than we were before :)

Have a great day and enjoy the sun :)

  • Hi Becky, this year is going so quickly isn't it.

We could do with a button to press to slow things down occasionally. I have been putting all our reward vouchers into Am@zon to offset Christmas. Not enough yet to offset the cost of gifts, but I am following the traditions of Portugal, Netherlands etc and change our 'gifting' this year. More focus on Christmas Eve and then family gathering on Christmas Day.

Thanks for stopping by, Tilly x

  • Good morning, off to the shops shortly and I am challenging myself to keep under £15 for milk, veg and fruit. Mr Tilly is coming too, so that always makes the shopping a little more challenging :A

Will be back for a further update later

  • Ok, over £15 but under £20 :T

Glorious day -Olympics postponed to tomorrow as DH decided it was too hot - as I had picnic made, we ate in the garden - we were a bit disappointed but in hindsight he was right.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the sun

You can give him a message from me Tilly -

That's hardly the spirit that conquered the world Mr T. Did Livingstone cancel his trip to Africa in case there were spiders? Did Scott not to go to the South Pole because it was a bit nippy out? Did Raleigh turn back from his trip to the New World because it was a bit choppy? Did Mo not run the 5k because he still had a blister from the 10k? Shame on you Mr T - get out there and conquer the world :T.

    Have a good day ;).
