Other than that it is business as usual. Mr Tilly and I are off for a Rupert Bear adventure over the weekend. Depends on the weather as to which day we go, and will jump in the car and head west or south - no plan for where we will end up. I will take a picnic for lunch and we will have dinner on the way home. Hopefully whichever direction we head in, we will end up at the seaside at some point - I have a need to hear and smell the sea, which comes over me periodically.

Ooohhh, an adventure, how exciting :j:j:j. Take me take me take me :D. North Norfolk gets my vote :)

    Hi there Tilly

Adventure sounds exciting! My hubby has booked a 'surprise' for our wedding anniversary - help!!! I am not a big fan of surprises....

How do you manage to get such bargainous food the whole time - tell us the secret - or do you think it was luck?!!

Weather here can't decided - just had rain and how blue skies!!:o

  • Morning SJ, bargainous shopping, for us, is pure luck. Sometimes I see hoards of people surrounding the poor guys who reduce the food, and I don't loiter. However, occasionally I hit it right, minimal people looking and interesting things reduced. Really helps - last night I had 16 beautiful plums for 28p

I hope your surprise event goes well, I love things like that :)

Sun is glorious here at the moment, and washing is in the machine. Windows open and roses blowing in the breeze - sorry a little verbose perhaps xxxx

    Tilly - you are online!!

    Yeah!

Just searching for your recipe for bread - I remember that this came from E Gas which I love and off on hol this week so trying some stuff from it. But I can't find what you swapped his 20g of fresh yeast for in terms of dried?

Can you please help? Want to bake it for lunch!!!

I think I will make half to start as 1kg is just going to be too much for us.

    thank you

We have had some 'surprise' disasters in the past - my DH is very enthusiastic but does get carried away sometimes! Whatever happens it will certainly provide us with something to talk about for years - the last attempt certainly did!

  • That sounds like the stories we tell of Mr Tilly's DIY exploits :eek:

Found it -= page 56 for reference!!!! I was sure it was much earlier than that!

Have a great day - off to make bread!

  • You are reading the whole diary :(:(:(. You are going to think I am a nutter shortly then :):):)

I use 1 tsp of fast acting yeast per 500g strong bread flour, 25g butter, 1 tbs sugar, 1.5 tsp salt, 320ml warm water.
