Hi Sandstone, thanks for dropping by. I wishing knew something about boilers to help you with your decision but we ended up battling with BG and they replaced ours. Mr Tilly was having a rare old time arguing his case.

Hi, NSD, seem to be racking more up which is good new.
I am having a moment of wishing I could magic the money to clear our mortgage so we can stop work and relax, which I know is madness. We both work flat out in careers which demand everything - whilst that pays a good salary, it also wears you out mentally and physically. Right enough wallowing, I need a holiday :j

I know how you feel. Alternating between desperately checking spreadsheets to make sure I haven't made a mistake, and desperately checking them hoping I HAVE made a mistake!
Cr*p weather isn't helping
. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Mortgage Balance = £0

Me too! I dream about being mortgage free. Just did my '45 min walk' to do some exercise and I enjoy it as it clears my head, but all I seem to do when I am walking is quietly planning and thinking about how I can reduce the mortgage :rotfl:.1 -
Hi GG & SD, maybe we should harness the collective brain power of the MFW forum to will a lottery win :T
Weather certainly doesn't help - I came home in between calls this afternoon, so that at least I was at home when they finished, and I had to put the lights on at 5pm  My mother reliably informs me that the good weather is over and the rain is on the way.........
I am off to drown my sorrows in a cup of tea

Morning, off for a dog walk in a moment. Regular saver has two payments to go, then payout. I think we can set up a joint one as well for the next twelve months. Will make a call today to check. That would mean a little less to OP but the 8% interest makes it worthwhile, even after tax has been paid and I can OP in one go next year.
Woken to rain which is a real disappointment for August, makes our plan to move to warmer climes even more important. I have lived abroad a few times and maybe that gives you itchy feet. I need to wake to blue sky more than grey.
Lunch made using some steak I saved from last night and sliced thinly, with salad and potatoes. I do need to buy some fruit though as we seem eaten far more than normal.
I mentioned a little way back whether we would get more lodgers sooner rather than later; we have definitely decided to wait until April, to ensure we are under the tax threshold for rent a room. I will start searching actively in February/March 2013.
Dinner this evening is bargainous chicken wrapped in bargainous Parma ham, served with diced HG potatoes and HG peas which I will cook in foil with a little garlic and chilli (yep HG too, but chilli is dried from last year).
Have a great day and I hope wherever you are, the sun is shining

Well not sure the sun shined in many places today.
Clearing the mortgage is my major goal. The freedom that will give us allows an entirely different focus of our lives to commence. Please don't think we aren't enjoying our lives now, as we are, but we will have real choices once it is gone.
Roll on April 2016 :T
We have choices we can make with our lives and the Tilly household are definitely voting with their collective feet.
Beŵt wishes to all on this challenging journey - we will all make it.

Morning, well I can see a little pale blue in the sky, does that count as summer?
Working from home today so will put a couple of loads of washing in. Dinner this evening bargainous pork with chorizo (not bargainous), and veg. I stopped by the SM last night and picked up bargainous bread, pork, chicken, eggs, cream, fruit, and prices were pennies - thank you. This has meant a change to the menu plan but as dinner this evening would be from the freezer it made no difference.
A little penny tidy up on the bank account this morning so 78p OPd - it's going to need a lot of pennies to make a difference :rotfl:
Other than that it is business as usual. Mr Tilly and I are off for a Rupert Bear adventure over the weekend. Depends on the weather as to which day we go, and will jump in the car and head west or south - no plan for where we will end up. I will take a picnic for lunch and we will have dinner on the way home. Hopefully whichever direction we head in, we will end up at the seaside at some point - I have a need to hear and smell the sea, which comes over me periodically.
Have a great day and enjoy the Olympics. At more Golds on the horizon?
Best wishes Tilly x
