  • Morning PWD, you will need to celebrate tomorrow, that's a big step forward. The two years will whizz by and I guess a new chapter will start for you. If only we could have hindsight at the beginning not the end :). Since starting the diary I've done a little thinking about my past mainly to come to terms with my/our stupidity, actually that's the wrong word, lack of thought or no consideration for te future. We have both given ourselves a hard time, BUT that's also allowed us to be thankful for the fun and memories. Money is unbelievably complicated and it's far easier to spend than save. However, I now realise that the saving aspect is fun:T. I never thought I would get to that point.

On the weight loss, I have no idea about your life, but I have found walking daily, which then turned into light running has been a help. Good luck.

  • Good morning, Thursday already :T:T. Tonight it's shish tawook (phonetic spelling) (chicken with spices) with a huge salad, bargainous pitta breads, some left over jersey pots made into a little salad, and tabbouleh. Mmmmmm. Sadly I am in the office again, so will have to get cracking when I get home. DH is cooking the chicken though so that's one thing off my list.

A little ironing to do before work, DH is doing the washing today and I can finish that ironing this evening.

Had a great catch up with a girlfriend last night and although only an hour or so, we didn't stop talking much to the amusement of her husband........

I have been putting off an admin type job at home. It's at the back of my mind and normally there's a reason I am trying to avoid things and I think about it and then get stuck in, but this is proving difficult to understand. So this evening, once the dinner is finished, kitchen clear, I am sitting down with my lap top to sort it out. Committing that when I get into to bed this evening it's done. Otherwise it's just going to continue to be postponed and that's ridiculous. Prevarication takes too much negative energy so enough. I will post this evening to confirm i have completed it

Have a good day all. It will be a NSD for me, then looking to do a small top up shop on Friday for next week, freezer is starting to empty, so will continue to run it down, defrost and stock it up again - merry ground city xx

Good luck with your admin job - my mum does all her "worst" household jobs first thing in the morning to get them out of the way, she is brilliant like that. I always leave the worst jobs until last :D

Good luck with weight loss PWD! I have been semi-dieting since January and lost and kept off 8lb, not much I know but prior to that, I'd gained a few pounds each month for the previous 18 months. Still could do with losing about 3 stone but struggle as I can't eat fruit and veg which really doesn't help! The fact I haven't gained any more is an achievement for me, so just need to focus on losing a bit more now! Walking has helped me too.
  • Evening, good job I posted that I needed to get my job done otherwise it would never have been started. I am half way through, but as I didn't get home from work until late then that's ok. It will be finished on Saturday morning after the dog walk and then I am sorted.

    Friday tomorrow :j:j:j

  • Hi Tilly,

Very happy Friday here, i am no longer BR:D:D, i am now discharged:j:j:j. Still have 24 payments to make to the trustee but feel a huge weight has disappeared:D.

Couldn't find scales last night but did frugally purchase a half bottle of Moet:money:, so once the children are off to bed tonight i may request DH to go and fetch a curry to celebrate.

Will probably start a new diary so i amn't waffling on yours! Wish i could have a diary here but i suppose it has to be the DFW board, the BR one seems to be for questions and advice not waffling and getting your thoughts straight by writing them down.

Agree about the feelings of regret, but we're where we are and we are sooo much wiser. Personally i think my parents and DH's have a lot to answer for (on so many levels), i was brought up with the whole 'it's rude to talk money' mantra. Ohh my children are going to be blasted with all the info their little brains can take:rotfl:xx

    Hi PWD

You have mortgage so I think you should start a diary on this board anyway (and stuff what other people think)

    Enjoy the Moet :T

  • Hi PWD, I agree with Radish. You may be working through other stuff, but your focus and leaning is MFW, so I would get cracking and get one started. I waffle on about loads of stuff which is not MF, but helps me stay focussed on every level.

:T:T:T:T:j:j:j:j:j:j:T:T:T:T on being discharged. Next phase starts now :)

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Friday evening already and the sky is dark, did I hibernate and miss the Spring and Summer and we've hopped into Autumn?

Ironing is finished for today, one load in the wm, two loads to go and them I am done :)

Tomorrow morning I have my admin task to finish and after that I am doing nothing but having fun for the weekend :T Will have to fit in a little ironing but that's all.

Spends from entertainment budget, minimal food shopping on the cards but I do need a trip to BM for drinks etc.

As its payday next week, so my month is over, I have checked my grocery spends in the month and I am coming in just under £240 for the month. Bear in mind we have used a lot of stuff from the freezer though. Pleased with that as it leaves me extra which I needed.

I have a hankering to make a big cottage pie this weekend - not exactly mid May food, but we all fancy something warming - mad.

On the pay day front, looking forward to hitting the £275k target and then its the push towards the big £250k

To finish with a bit of work, things are settling down a little now and life is calmer than the last few months. I feel as though I am making headway with the latest role and can see the value the changes are bringing which is great news. It is gratifying to realise that big changes can be introduced without wreaking havoc on the way.

Have a good weekend all, best wishes Tilly x

Polly, don't be silly, if you feel more comfortable here then put your diary here... it will save us having to go looking for it on the DFW boards....
