It must be heartbreaking for you Sazzy, I can't imagine being as strong as you if my old lad went off like that, its the not knowing.
You know we are all behind you, praying and hoping that one day he will just walk through your door, wanting his tea as if nothing had happened, or that the person who has got him finds out you are still looking for him.

Please be that it happens soon.

Don't give up hope, don't give up on him, don't stop looking for him, I'm sure he is still out there somewhere with someone who doesn't know you want him back.

That is so true dollardog, Sazzy has been incredibly brave and I too think he is out there somewhere, he must be.
  • Sazzy, I haven't posted but I have thought of you and lit candles. I can't imagine what you are going through. Huge hugs :grouphug: xx

Sazzy, Paul O' Grady is asking people to post about their lost dogs on his 'for the love of dogs' facebook page. I'll go to ruaridh's page and post this link too, to make sure you see it.

  • I have not read all this thread but I have read quite a lot and I got impatient and skipped pages to get to the end and read that this lovely old man had been reunited with you, and I am so upset for you to read that is not so.

I had a beautiful cross collie called Pebbles who I bought for £5 (best £5 I ever spent) in 1997. I loved her so very much and she returned that love 10-fold to me and we spent such happy times together and I taught her so many things, like shaking paw, fetching her dish and little chat time, among other things, and she taught me so very much about the depth & joy of a dogs love.

Sadly, in 2004, due to mental illness and being in hospital I asked a friend to look after Pebbles, he was a male friend and Pebbles was not over keen on men and he let her out into his garden and she found a way out and ran away. I had changed address, and he lived many miles away, so bless her, Pebbles would not have found a way 'home'.

I tried to find her, but due to the distance and the time I had been in hospital, there was no sign.

I never saw Pebbles again and I cried everyday for a long time and still do cry for her often. I could back then and can now, only hope that she found a beautiful and loving home.

I will never forget her and the love we shared and know from looking back then and reading since that many lost dogs are adopted by new families. I feel this is what happened to your beautiful dog, but I will pray that somehow the love the new family feel for your Rory, will make them realise that someone, somewhere loved and taught this old dog to be tender and gentle and that, that will prompt them to try and find you and reunite you with your special old chap.

With tears running down my cheeks now and knowing the acute pain of having a special friend lost. I wish you all the very best of luck in finding Rory. xxxx
Benefit fraud costs £1.2b per year. Tax evasion (illegal) costs £70b, tax avoidance (legal) costs £25b, overdue receipts amount to £25b. Every year we lose 120 times more on tax than we do to benefit fraud.

Thanks guys. I haven't been on MSE much- my Father had an accident so had to get down to Glasgow very quickly for a few days. Funny though- even though I knew it was impossible, every sibgle black dog I saw got a second glance- just in case. I'll never stop looking

How is your dad now sazzy? Hope he's ok, and you too.

Can't believe Bonfire Night is looming again. I hate it, and God knows how many more pets are going to be absolutely petrified this year like every other time.

Oh belladonna13, how sad that you never found your Pebbles. I also hope that she found someone else to love her as much as you did. xx
