sazz, stop thanking me. I'm a dumbo who can't even light a candle. Tell Alan, good thing there is no immediate threat of war, cause I can't find how to light a candle, let alone find my way to the nuclear shelter!
LOL, You made me laugh although I can feel your absolute frustration!
I click on any unlit candle..then 'continue' then you can leave a message if you want to, or press 'continue' then click on the wick of the candle to light it. If you can't- don't worry..I know how you and everyone else feels.:)
Alan's having a hard time tonight..think it must have taken a few nights to hit him. He's hanging onto Bruce for dear life-wherever he goes Bruce has to go with him, and he's also refusing to let us put the little man in his crate in the morning..'just put him in my room when you go to work-he'll come to bed with me' which will probably create a whole new set of problems when he comes off leave....but if this is how he's going to cope, then, well, okay.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

When I look in first thing of a morning and see a new post, my stomach does a flip. I open the thread expecting to see whoops of joy that he's home.0 -

I was the same..had 3 dogs previously with no crates at all-but I had a night job when they were young so there was always someone there with them 24/7. This time though, we both work during the day-although my dog sitter (Alans daughters mother-long story) comes over every couple of hours, and stays for an hour at a time.
At first we thought it would be ok, especially with Ruars there. The thought of a crate was abhorrent to me. However, after a week of chewed everything and pee everywhere, I thought I'd give it a go. Although I will admit, I cried for the whole of the first day..:(
Now-he goes in there if he wants his dinner, or if he wants peace from the cats..or even peace from us!If he wants to hide his bone, it's under the mattress in his crate.

Hi Sazzy, I've lit a candle for you and Ruars and said a prayer for you. xxAspire not to have more but to be more.

I had to get a crate when Jack was a puppy. He was a nightmare. I had flowers in a vase out of his reach (so I thought) but he got to it, selected a lily, ate it then chucked up all over the carpet. Lily pollen's bad enough to remove...mixed with dog vomit is worse, trust me. Then I found out it was toxic to dogs, so off to the vet.
Next day I put a meal out on the table, and he whipped the tablecloth away and ran upstairs with it, leaving everyone wearing Sunday dinner!
Chewed wires, skirting boards, the handles on the kitchen cupboards, my bus pass...had my older dog demented with chewing her tail...so he had to go in the crate a couple of times a day just so we could all hang on to our sanity!
And now he's three, and the calmest dog you could hope to meet...thank God!0 -

Sorry, laughed out loud at the hi-lighted bit!
Rodders, my puppy is crated at home when I am out or in bed and in the car and actually seem to prefer it. He gets very stressed if I leave him in the lounge and nip out to the car and he has been on two short car trips sitting beside me in the back and shook the whole time.
