Thanks sazz for your concern, sometimes other problems take your mind from your own.

She's a young adult who holds down a very responsible job, but needs daily medication.

Back in September she had a setback, and her daily dose was doubled in increments.

She had been taking the full double dose for two weeks when she received a voicemail to tell her that she had been wrongly prescribed, as the original dose was the maximum allowed. Therefore she was double dosing.

On Monday she took her meds before going to work, but collapsed with double vision and couldn't stand.
She rang for an ambulance who refused to attend, as "she had no difficulty breathing"

She managed to garble a message to her live in lovely boyfriend, who thankfully, convinced 999 that an ambulance was vital.

I through all this was uncontactable, and considering that I live an hour away, arrived in A&E 15 mins before her.

Her speech was so slurred, that I suspect 999 thought she was drunk.

She is defending all in her profession, apart from the one who over prescribed her, but I'm inwardly seething that an ambulance was denied her.

I could write pages, but she survived, and has gone back to work today after lots of love and good food.

The boy Patrick had been alone for twelve hours, love him. Still, better than the evil kennels in Essex.

Thanks for letting us know. Thank goodness she's alright though. What a battler-going back to work after all that :T

Time for you to chillax now Pad!

  • Awww Sazzy.... I havn't been on for a while as my own little "Elsie the wonder dog" has been diagnosed with an advanced heart murmur and well, at first I thought we were in for the worst as she collapsed...but long story but shes now on a meds and fingers crossed things are looking on the up - no cure but the meds are doing their job and no more collapsing :T

Anyway.. enough about me - Sazzy im so sorry the big man hasn't been found yet - Ive no real constructive advice but to say he MUST be out there somewhere - he cant have just disapeared....Unsure if this has been mentioned but garages? petrol stations i mean...everyone (well nearly everyone) has to fill up with fuel - Also, unsure if like with around here we have a coal man and oil man - delivers coal and oil to remote houses or houses that are heated via coal and oil - all just a thought and prob all been done.

Sazzy I may not be on before Christmas but i hope that you have a good Christmas - I know it wont be the same and i cant begin to imagine how you feel as this has gone on for ages for you...but as good as can be for you and well, who knows you may just have the most wonderful present of all (and we all know what that would be!!)- I really do ...you are in my thoughts Sazzy - take care xxx Stacey xx

    Thanks again everyone.

Alan's home on leave now, and I think it's just hit him that the old boy isn't here. He could pretend it wasn't happening while he was away. I was worried he would resent Bruce but they seem to have bonded wonderfully!

Network Rail called me again to say there was still nothing from their side, and they'd been up the track from Inverness to beyond Elgin, so that's a positive, and was very good of them.

One of the FB group had accosted a poor lady in Elgin who had an old black lab X on a lead, but when she spoke to the lady, the lady totally understood and had actually known about Ruars, so the word is truely getting all over the place.

I'm just SO puzzled as to why there's been nothing, no sightings, no (and I hate to use this word) body...nothing. We'll never stop looking, or hoping though.

  • Morning Aileen (((hugs))) - glad Alan is back home for a while.

I also can't believe there's been nothing ...... great news that NR are still keeping an eye out and that people are speaking to others & they already know about Ruars:)

Sorry I've not been posting a lot ...... still hoping and keeping everything crossed and you are all in my thoughts daily (honestly, I wake up missing Ben and then think about Ruars and wishng him home).

Another one checking in - I check every day, but don't always have time to post. Well done Network Rail.

Sazzy is there anywhere that Alan used to take Ruaridh on his own? Perhaps somewhere that he might not have admitted to at the time;)? Still desparately trying to think of anything that you haven't done.

Not that I know of MrsA. He used to take him when he went on a run- but that was on the wood trail where we walk all the time.

Lostdog-Scotland have done another poster..much better than the one we had before

    http://www.lostdogs-scotland.org.uk/notice-board

There's a link there for Ruaridhs poster (in orange writing) along with a link for another pair of missing JRTs poster. I'll print them off when I get to work on Monday.

Just looked at that poster sazzy. To me, he looks completely different in the second photo to how he looks in the first one. Was he much older in the second one?

That could have been misleading some people. Of course, they've been keeping an eye out for an old black lab cross but in the second picture he seems to have a lot more grey.

This new poster might just jog some memories.

Are there any areas nearby that are inaccessible to people but not to dogs? Mrs A made a good point that Alan may have taken him places nobody else did (maybe even to a girlfriend's at the time).

It is encouraging that no trace of a body has been found, as you say. Gives us all hope that he WILL come home.

I asked Alan, but he says definitely not..always through the woods up to Cawdor and back. Which is the way we walk.

I think there is about 6 months between the pictures ..it definitely wasn't too long. The second picture was one we took just after we got Bruce, and he's lying on the couch looking fed up because Bruce was lying snuggled into him trying to push him off the sofa.

I'm hoping to work out the new printer at work so it prints colour posters instead of black and white, as I think the colour will show up his white more.
