I saw it, did a double take, but it's not Ruars. There's too much black on its face and body and it's chunkier.
But thanks everyone xxRuaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

I'm also popping in regularly for updates. So sorry there is still no news. The hardest part when a pet goes missing is the just not knowing what happened to them
.
Sazzy, there is no easy way to say this and I really don't want to upset you further, but have you contacted your local highways agency and local council? If the worst has happened (and we all pray to God it hasn't) it would be advisable to find out how the local authorities dispose of the body.
The different departments are notoriously bad at communicating with one another, so it may take some detective work, especially as he was not micro chipped - but at least you'd know."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

Thanks Fruglista. Yes, I'm in constant contact with the council Tech services- the road division that picks up after accidents etc. Korena (the lady on the desk) is brilliant!
She has told ALL the council workers that if they hear or see anything- they've to get in contact with her, and she'll get me. Also the Dog Warden for our area actually works out of Inverness, and she comes into Nairn on a regular basis, just to look. The Inverness council offices also have been aware right from the start, and check in with Nairn every so often.
Network Rail were also very good, and had maintenance men walking up and down miles of track in order to look. Their customer service people call me on a Friday to keep me updated- and they like to hear updates too.
Evidently they take them to the vets to be...got rid of, but the vets etc all know about him.
And don't worry about upsetting me at all, I have been through every scenario in my head before now
