Somehow cant see any compo coming my way. He wont admit to stealing the original £100 covers so all I can get him for is the £25ish plain black replacements because simply that is all we have evidence of him doing. Local Police have just released this:

I like how they're taking all the credit for the work that was basically done by you.
  • How old are these Astras...?

I'm just finding it crazy that these thefts are going on for the sake of £10 or £20....

Massive well done for catching the scrotes though... you're just up the road from me.
A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.

They were taking them from the Astra H (or MK5, we are now on MK6). The Police tell me they were getting £10 per pair so nice money for a few seconds work, though I'm guessing the £10 a pair was for the colour coded not the basic plastic. As to who's been buying them, well, thats still being investigated.

    It was, wasn't it :D

Was quite reassured the other night when Officers told me the Crime Stats for Meir have fallen year after year and that it's actually a very safe area. I live up on one of the private estates and in 15 years have never had a problem until now but I feel a little safer for the CCTV anyway.
  • Great result Miss P. Hope it stops the f@ckers

Basically, they get sentenced for the one crime you have pinned on them, and ask for various others to be taken into consideration.
In other words, they get less sentence for admitting to 200 other thefts than they would if they were just convicted for the one
    It's very common with burglars.
It's a way for the govt to claim clear ups and make their crime figures look better

that's what I mean. They're only pleading guilty to one whilst admitting to 11 others.

One of the crimes taken into consideration may be the theft of your original covers. For it to be taken in consideration he has to admit his guilt of that crime.

I still prefer my 'wire the car up to the mains' security system to be honest, though a few turret guns wouldn't go amiss hehe
