Hello New Road and Welcome, its really lovely to see you. :j

I have a very mad, very noisy and busy family, but I wouldnt swap any of them or it for the world !
If I could wave my magic wand I would make sure that my dream comes true for each and every one of you, and similar to you my hope for the future is also to live somewhere by the sea. Its my favourite place to be. We have a secret hidey hole that we go to once a year for a week, ( actually we dont own it, but again in my fantasy world I do !!) Its the only week we guarantee ourselves out of the whole year come rain, shine or money ! There are no phones, no internet, just the four of us, lots of yummy food cooked by Mr Pinot and I get to sit and read, play old fashioned board games with the girls and not have a care in the world. I am usually to be found in tears at the end of the week as I really think I could stay there forever. The children love it as well and insist that they will bring their children in many years to come as well ! It is right by the sea and we wander down with a couple of wine glasses, and the obligatory bottle of Pinot , wrap up very warm as we go in the Winter and sit and stare out to the sea. DD1 is a keen Photographer and takes some beautiful pictures.........oh now I'm rambling. I wish I was there now !!! Shut up Mrs Pinot....for once in your life !!!:rotfl:

So, your post was lovely thankyou and made me think of lovely happy times. I wish you all the luck in the world with your dreams for your retirement and family, but dont disappear, keep posting, wouldnt it be great if we both finally got our little place by the sea one day ?!!

Enjoy your Sauvignon, I rather enjoy that too, and have a really wonderful weekend xx

    Mrs Pinot

Thank you so much for your lovely reply.:T Sadly retirement for me is some years off (unless we win that lottery:).

My BF lives near the sea on the South coast and I adore walking by the sea when I visit, sadly I haven't been down for some time soon as have been unwell but hopefully soon.

We have been to Norfolk a few times on holiday and love nights in playing board games etc. I remember last year the owners of the place we stayed had left Scrabble and a DVD game about music. To say he became competitive would be an understatement but it was great fun :rotfl:

I would love to go with my DD and DGS and her BF as I think it would be a great break for us all but as we all know these things cost money so see how the pennies go.

Have a wonderful weekend also I have a feeling I will be on over the weekend as still not up to doing vast amounts of HW etc.

Retirement is a fair way off for me as well, but I still dream !! Norfolk is beautiful, I used to live there many moons ago. We often visit with the tent for a quick, and very cheap couple of nights away. I love a board game, but its DD2 thats the competitive one in our house !!

I'm so sorry to hear you have been unwell and wish you a very speedy recovery. Maybe I will see you over the weekend !!

    Have you a diary NewRoad ? x

Ok, culinary delights this evening for the Pinot Household are as follows:-

A Cauliflower and Potato curry, made with a cauliflower that Mr Pinots insists has been in the fridge since Christmas - I sincerely promise that it has not and he is telling spectacular pork pies !!;) Must confess though I think the spuds have been there a while ! :o

I then got a bit carried away and made a Chicken Korma as well and a batch of chocolate chip fairy cakes with DD2 while I was at it. I then cooked the rice, some naan bread ( Asda Value, no idea what they will taste like ) then because I was worried about the lack of veg, some broccoli as well. Hmmmmm, think I may have cooked just a tad too much, not quite sure what got into me. Hopefully there will be plenty left for Saturday and maybe even Sunday then I dont have to cook all weekend !!! :T

I am going to wean myself away from here now for the rest of the evening, collect Mr Pinot from the station about 8.30. We have all decided to wait and eat with him, so will serve the mountainous food with the remains of last nights Merlot and then the plan is to all settle down together and watch Glee !! A firm family favourite. For once I dont have a houseful of other peoples children on a Friday night, I will savour the experience !! :D

I hope you all have a lovely Friday evening and I will see you all over the weekend.

    Farewell for now xxxx:rotfl:

  • Hi Pinot, lovely to catch up with your ramblings... sorry diary. You've put a lovely smile on my face this morning as I sit here with my cup of coffee. :D Your annual holiday sounds wonderful, just my cup of tea. I do miss my walks along the beach in wild, windy weather. Mr F is more a country bumpkin than sea lover!

Wow, you really excelled yourself last night with the cooking. Hope it went down well and that you do indeed have enough leftover for the weekend.

I would miss the weather as well , even though we often complain about it !! My Dream is to own the particular Hidey Hole that we visit, and people often say to me "but wouldnt you rather have a house in Florida or Majorca etc, somewhere warm and sunny" ( not that this is likely to happen of course 1!) , but there is something to be said for this country I think !!

I am glad you enjoy my rambles :rotfl:......... er diary !!! I do tend to go on a bit dont I ?!!

Dinner went down a treat, but sadly we all stuffed ourselves silly and there is only one portion left for later ! Oops !!

    Hello all,

Today I am aiming for my second NSD of March !! We have more birthdays today, but cards and pressies already have been bought, so we are off on deliveries this afternoon and also a visit to my parents to see hwo they are . Money looking a bit tight as a client is overdue by 2 weeks on two invoices, money should be in the account by Tuesday, then I can pay us. In the meantime we need to reign it in over the wekend and I will rustle up some delights from the cupboards for dinners. I dont actually think there is anything we need to buy anyway, so hopefully tomorrow can be a NSD as well.

Mr Pinot at work all weekend , but will make it home in the evenings. Apparently all is quiet at the company he is working at today, so he has taken my car with him and is aiming to fit the new lights we brought a couple of weeks back from the breakers yard . My old car is starting to look a bit posher these days !! Pimp my Ride springs to mind when I look at it !! My friend took delivery of a very shiny very expensive new car yesterday, but I think if I put them side by sad, my old car could give it a run for its money !!! :rotfl:Mr Pinots car about to hit the 100,000K mark and mine is up ro 170 K  I really hope they carry on going strong for a bit longer though !!

    Enjoy your day ! x

Glad you had a lovely friday evening, I know what you mean about eating everything up I treated myself to an Easter Egg (£1) from A*** yesterday to last the weekend...no chance I had it for desert after lunch today:rotfl:

To be fair I have been working hard, in the kitchen clearing out and cleaning cupboard fridges and freezers, oh and making a list of everything I have in. (In 20 mins spurts set the timer an idea I got on OS board;)

Dont want to overdo it though as this is my first real day of any sort of HW etc for nearly 6 weeks:o and I have been poorly:(

You asked if I have a diary, I do but it has never been as newsworthy as your and some others I read but maybe I should put more of my musings down (might help people sleep:p)

Have a good time visiting the family hope to catch up later.

Wow, sounds a busy day NewRoad, take it easy, you dont want to go doing too much and send yourself back to square one again.

The Easter Egg sounds yummy though, I havent bought any yet as they wont last two seconds if I do and I will end up buying a load more for Easter !

I have looked for your diary but obviously having a divvy moment and I cant find it !!
