That is fantastic news!!!
So, how does one go about getting their own cheque through the post? ....?
Thankyou ! Basically that particular account has been passed to Wescot so isnt handled by MBNA anymore, therefore they cant just credit the account with the refund as they would usually do. So, they have to send a cheque made out to me. Obviously we could just send that money to Wescot or another creditor, but we will sit on it and use it towards offering a full and final in the coming months.
Keep going on your NSD BR xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hair cut, what's one of them? hahaha.Seriously, I've haven't been to the hairdressers in nearly months, good job I have long straight hair that I can trim myself. I did have a hairdressing budget but at the moment, for a number of reasons, this has been blown on DS2. Fortunately Mr F doesn't have any hair and DS1 allows me to cut using hair clippers!
Hee Hee, Mr Pinot has the same problem ! He does his own hair and occasionally if I can be bothered I will check that its straight at the back ! My hair hasnt been cut since October and before that was last February , so it was a nice treat. I have to say though I decided to have quite alot chopped off and am now regretting it a bit much to everyones annoyance !
We are back from our day out, totally exhausted but we had a lovely time, used lots of vouchers from MSE and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My bed is calling now though, but I need ot catch up on a bit of work before giving in and resting my weary head ! Mr Pinot has a very early start tomorrow and I have a thousand and one jobs and places to be as usual !!
Oh ........Two ebay items sold this evening, so thats an extra £143 in the pot with another item due to end tomorrow :T
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xxx:DLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Ooh, that's a co-incidence, I'm having my hair done today. A cut and colour at home with a mobile hairdresser. And the money is sat in a little tub waiting for her. What a lovely feeling that is.
Well done on having a family day out. You all deserved it. xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Morning
Hair cut for this week too. First time with a mobile hairdresser. Saved £10 and was delighted with the result. In fact I saved more than £10 and did not need to pay for travel or parking
Pleased you had a good day out and that you are managing to acquire an emergency fund.

Glad to hear that you had a great day Pinot. It feels better when you have kept spending to a minimum too"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"

Hope you all look glam and gorgeous today after your haircuts !! Wouldn't it be nice if we could dress up in our gladrags and head out for a posh night out now with our shiny new hair ! :rotfl:
Actually I can't complain, we went to the Haagen Dasz restaurant last night with the girls armed with the Quidco cash back to pay for it, it was such an indulgence !
My hairdresser is an old friend, so it was lovely that she cut hair, we had a chat and caught up, she brought her children so my girls had a good time as well ! Win win win all round . Its a shame that she doesn't do colour anymore for various reasons, I have had a few disastrous attempts with a box of colour from the supermarket. Looked like Pyscho had attacked the bathroom by the time I had finished. My hair holds colour quite well though, so I am hoping the hair cut pot will build up to a nice little sum and I may have enough to get it done at the hairdressers when they have specials on, even if its once a year !
Today I am attempting rice pudding in the slow cooker. I bought the rice weeks ago and after reading it being mentioned in Happy Nows diary it reminded me its lurking in the cupboard ! I understand from HH that its foolproof, I fear thats for good cooks though, not the likes of me who tend to wander off for a chat and get distracted ! I will report back later ! xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

You may well know by now that one of my coping mechanisms is to while away the time thinking about spending money rather than actually spending it!!!! Had mentioned on another thread that if I win the lottery tonight I'd buy dinner and what was everyone having, so especially rang a chord when you said about us treking out with new hair do's.
Hair party sounds like a good way to go. I have had some really good results with John Freida colours that you apply like a mousse. Have started to use one close to the colour of my own to colour some fine grey and get lots of compliments.
I promise the rice pudding is foolproof. Just a matter of taste.
I put in multiples of 2oz rice, 1 pint milk, 1oz sugar, generous knob of butter and grated nutmeg. Stir once, put the lid on and leave it alone for about 6 hours. Can depend on size of pan and how quick it cooks. I tend to do about 4-6 pints worth so I can freeze portions. Sometimes I throw in a handful of sultanas an hour or two before the end. Slow cookers are much more forgiving for your indivudual variations than conventional cookers so just go with the flow.
If you love ice cream I can recommend doing Nigella's raspbery ripple, talk about sensation, yum.

So being a bit dim here today HH, if I am making for 4 of us, do I put in 8oz of rice, 4 pints of milk etc. Bascially x all the amounts you have suggested by 4 ? I havent got around to looking for a slow cooker recipe yet, maybe the rice pud will be tomorrow now !!
I tried the John Frieda mousse and made soooo much mess !
I do that as well, I think about spending money, but thankfully now I tell myself off ,that I need to stop thinking about it as usually I dont need the things I am thinking about if that makes sense !!
Its funny really, I'm not an ice cream lover at all, but we took the girls to the Haagen Dasz restaurant a few years ago and had a chocolate fondue with ice cream and fruit to dip in and it was wonderful. When we walked past yesterday and we decided to spoil ourselves go in , it was the presentation I think that got me, it all looked so pretty !! I had little tiny glasses , all beautifully arranged, some gorgeous flavours, the creme brulee was my favourite...........I could go on forever !!! Today though I am feeling guilty at the extravagance.:( I have most of Nigellas books so will take a look for her Raspberry Ripple Ice cream. Do you know which book it is in off the top of your head please ?!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

The packet says 2oz per person. 1 pint pp seems a bit much doesn't it! I hardly ever portion control anything because I just have whatever is needed and anything left over goes in the freezer. Go on, be a devil, suck it an see.
Shame about the JF hair stuff. Have you tried a shower cap on? I tend to stay in the bathroom and tend to other areas of my body!!!!!
The ice cream parlour sounds like the stuff dreams are made of through a kids eyes. The recipe is in forever summer on page 232. I use strawberries sometimes in the summer, works as well. If that's not one you have let me know and I'll pm the recipe.
I never buy frozen strawberries but I do buy frozen raspberries. Total bargain compared to fresh and how quick they go off, freeze really well too. I have done the recipe with frozen mixed berries with a good spoonful of icing sugar.
I have learnt to cook, eat better and slash my food bill by being on a DMP.
Having a good day here. Just renewed home insurance. Only saved £13.92 but worth it for a phone call and that's two bottles of wine! Shouldn't complain about the sun but it is making me embarassed about the cleanliness of my kitchen doors. Have to get scrubbing soon me thinks, shocking!

Finally got around to signing up for Netflix via Quidco, so I will keep an eye out for the cashback on that. Must remember to canx within the 30 days. I have made lots of notes in my diary in red on various dates to remind me !!:DLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
