She demolished tonights dinner though and asked for seconds. Desert is some Aldi ice cream I picked up the other week. Watched Come Dine with Me while I was cooking, one of the guys was a fishmonger and served up the most gorgeous looking fishy canap!s and lovely champagne !! It looked so lovelyOnly £88K to go and I can have some too !!!

Hi PG
You are doing so well and you are always in great positive form.:)
I could picture the kids out in the snow. Great to be a child, if we did that they would send the men in white coats to take us away

Thanks everyone, I am looking forward to hitting that next thousand. Maybe later as I haven't got around to paying the tax man yet.
Had a call sad call from Mr Pinot earlier, a very close work colleague of his has been recovering from two heart attacks. We have only just found out although we had been trying to contact him for a while. Apparently it happened just before Christmas. He is on the mend now but has been unable to work and with a young family to support obviously it has been a struggle. It really does make you sit up and take stock. I do worry about Mr Pinot as his days are so long, we've had lots of stress. He has been unable to exercise due to some work injuries he sustained and his weight has increased in recent years due to this, also the fact he rarely gets a day off or time to do any exercise doesn't help. He doesn't eat a lot but he drives for hours and hours so it quite stationary a lot of the time. It makes me wonder yet again, why I spent 5 years stressing about the debts, working our fingers to the bone instead of feting up and doing something about it like we are now. P::mad:Pride I suppose. But hearing sad stories this close to home make me even more determined not to spent our lives fighting this blasted debt, life really is too short.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi Mrs PG
Wise words re getting some perspectives about health...you just never know what is going to happen when and for the self employed its even more precarious ( unfortunately)... But you're doing the right thing. I know that when I was working away a lot I drank too much wine and ate too much hotel food. It was only after a health MOT that I kind of sorted myself out and am doing much more exercise now, drinking less wine etc. I also don't have the nights away now with my new job which really helps. My vow to only serve meat for 3 meals max a week should help too.
My OH really tries to look after his health and I think one of the things he does which really helps is that he eats loads of fruit. If he's hungry then that's his first choice of snack. Can your OH perhaps stock up for when he's driving etc?
Hope everything is OK...take care hon

Pinot, that is a sad story. I hope things improve soon for Mr Pinot's colleague. It really does make you think and put a different perspective on things. It is great you are working together to reduce your debts. And it won't be long until you can have a better lifestyle, healthier too, without the stress.
We had another father of one of our kids' friends passed away very suddenly this week. DD is so worried about DH and how hard he works. Make sure your DH gets his exercise somehow, maybe walk in the park etc. It Is good for mental health too.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Sorry to hear about your DH's colleague Pinot. It is shocking how short and precious life is. I too posted late last week that a client had died suddenly (these things always seem to happen when my boss is on holiday and I don't have a clue what to do
).
It did make me smile about the girls making lemonade, have they got their inspiration from that advert that has been on the telly lately with the little girl making lemonade and selling it outside her house - maybe you could get them with a cottage style industry when the weather warms upJust keep swimming!0 -
Hope Mr PG's colleague is on the mend. As others have said, life is far too precious and short to take it for granted. We followed our dream and moved half way around the world and have no regrets. It's hard at times being so far away from family and friends but I make time out every week to talk to my dad via Skype and keep in touch with friends via email and FB.
It's not always the big things we do that make our life a little better, it's the little things that remind us of what we have. I love that DS1 will make me a cup of tea when I'm tired or that DS2 will come and give me a hug or sit on the arm of my chair to have a chat.
Anyway, hope you have a good day filled with little things.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All
