Today I am in full letter writing mode. The Postie is no longer my best friend and am unable to stalk him as I'm not really waiting for anything. Hence, today he brings me a reminder to tax my car by the end of the month and another stupid letter from Westcot.

This one is advising me that I am still paying MBNA instead of them . Yes dear , I know that ! Thats because I am being pedantic and refuse to deal with Westcot until MBNA have the decency to tell me who they have passed my debt onto rather than just saying, you have defaulted, we are passing your debt on but we arent going to tell you who to ! despite my requests MBNA have ignored every bit of correspondance re this particualr account sent to them since December and Westcot have been told in writing that I"m not paying them until MBNA tell me who they have passed the debt to. Bit like Cat and Mouse really ! So I have written two more lovely letters one to Westcot and one to MBNA ! Now I will sit back and once again look forward to the postie arriving !:D

While I am in letter mode I have finally sent the LBA to Virgin re my credit card charges reclaim, as I threatened to do this weeks ago but didnt get around to it. They gave me a bit fat no to my refund requests so I am going to ask again nicely whilst threatening court action . :p

DD1 is home poorly today :( and feeling very sorry for herself ! Mr Pinot is also home today, well for a few hours at least and is busy putting the new lights in the cars, apparently one had blown in his car also and has also replastered and filled a hole we have in the kitchen wall. He is yet to investigate whats wrong with the dishwasher, dare I remind him ?!! This evening, I will make use of him and he can cook dinner, as I dont feel very domesticated today :o His speciality is pasta pasta or pasta and on special occasions chilli. So looks like this evenings offerings are pasta then !;)

Completely off-topic here, but do you know how to calculate the percentage of your debt that you've paid off? I'm rubbish at maffs. I've entered mine as 0.5% :embarasse (<--- embarrassed smiley apparently) but it was a bit of a guess. Then I looked at your rather more impressive figure and tried to calculate the % but I kept getting really silly numbers that couldn't possibly be right! I probably could have done it when I was eleven, but I've lost a couple of brain cells since then.......
LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

    Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,332

    Hi PG

Have just had the facebook discussion again with DD. To prove a point to her and grandad, I logged onto his facebook account and then tried to log on to DD's friends accounts. I could do this with 8!!!!! of her friends and this was from an elderly male's account. Totally frightening. Obviously if she had one she would have an avatar and complete privacy settings set up. What are their parents thinking???

Car tax reminders came for both our cars today, eeeK. Suppose they could be at the end of Jan, that would be worse.
    Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)

Nope, I have to say my brain cells disappeared approx 14 years ago, but Mr Pinot still has his, I will ask him , but hes not here at th e moment. Actually I am sure I could do it,I would have to re teach myself though which is often what I end up doing when helping the girls !

But.........yet again I call on the lovely HH as I know that she does know how to do this, so if you are reading, please drop by and give us a Maths lesson please ?!!!

  • Ooh Mr Pinot has just called so I have asked him - Here goes.

Take your total debt and divide by 100. In my case that = 967.96

Then take your new total and divide by the answer above, so for me -

    88538.73 / 967.96 = 91.45 that is my percentage.

I then take that percentage above away from 100 and that will give you the percentage you have paid off - So for me its 8.55% or thereabouts !:D

Hope this helps, and by the way any percentage reduction however tiny is good news and well worth celebrating in my opinion. Let me know how you get on Happy xx

Yep indeedy the whole facebook thing is frightening . I do allow DD1 to post photos but carefully monitored , unlike some of the scantily clad photos posted by her peers and all of her privacy settings are set up properly. What did she think of you being able to access her friends accounts. My DD1 is usually slightly dumbstruck when I show her such things !

We had the car tax due on Mr Pinots car on the 31 December, so this hasnt given us much lee way unfortunately, but at least they arent both in the same month as yours ! Yuk !:(

I think this is right correct me someone if wrong lol

how much you have paid off divided by the amount you started with times 100........so i worked yours out to be 0.27 %

And pinot.......i think yours would be 8.53% does that sound right?>!
