Thanks everyone. The girls will be fine I'm sure. Its still early days and with DD1 taking her GCSEs they come with alot of pressure which has come at the wrong time really.Once the show next week is done nad dusted it will free up some more time for her to study ! The Mocks are in two weeks and the school have delayed various controlled assesemtnets for her due to the situation at home. They have taken her out of useless lessons like PSHE to give her time to catch up on other subjects.
Last night DD2 had a friend to stay, something that I haven't been able to do for her since August . They had a lovely time, they composed their own "love" song on the piano and wrote their own lyrics . It sounded really lovely when they played and sung together , a bit Ed Sh££r@ny in a 12 / 13 year old sort of way !!
DD1 was just shattered, she didn't want to go out at all despite having many offers to do so , so just chilled out and took her first photo on the Polaroid of DD2 and her friend. It looked great, very vintagey . The girls were sitting on the bed laughing and playing the guitar and looked like 70s hippy chicks ! The only problem is there are only 8 shots per film, which at a cost of £20 a film DD1 will need to be very selective with her choice of photos.
Well...........................I have a very very busy Saturday in store so I need to get to it.
The sun is shining, as usual that makes me smile.......................hope you all have a lovely day .:DLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Mrs P!!
Its good to see you back! Not good though to hear of some of the reasons for why you were away.
I am truly sorry to hear about your dad. ((((HUGS)))) to you and your family. I lost my dad 15 years ago now so have some incline of how you are all feeling.
Everybody else has already said some wonderful things and not been great with words I will second all of what they have said.
Glad to hear the camera worked for DD1 and hoped that it raised a smile for her. to the cost of the film though!! In this digital age we have forgotten all about having photos processed. I can remember finding reels of camera films in the drawer when I was a kid and we would have them all processed when my mum was feeling more flushThe joy of standing outside the photo shop going through all the photos you couldn't remember taking is a great memory. I am going to have lots of photos printed so I can fill up albums so my kids (if I have any) can leaf through them like I did with my grans and mums.......not quite the same looking on the laptop is it.
Enjoy Saturday whilst the sun is here. I am doing some much needed cleaning

A thought from a lurker
, if you have a Freecycle or Freegle group locally how about trying a wanted for Polaroid Films, you never know what people might have stowed away in a cupboard or some such. If you don't mention it to DD, it would be a lovely surprise if any turn up, but no disappointment if none do. Is there only one type of Polaroid film?, I would be happy to put a request out locally just in case:D

Good idea Maddie May, i would ask on our local fb group too if I knew what type of film it was.Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0

Hi Pinot,
I think Freecycle is a great idea but I think film can degrade over time and needs to be kept temperature controlled.
Only reason I mention is to let you do a little expectation setting in case you do get your hands on any cheap or free stuff.

Dear Pinot, I am really sorry to hear about your dad. It is a very difficult time, I know. It is six years for me and sometimes it is as raw as the time it happened. It seems unfair that the rest of the world is continuing as normal when you have lost someone very close. Take lots of time for you and the girls. They will need lots of support too. Lots of hugs from me xx
I even had a 'moment' in Lanzarote when I realised I was in one of Dad's favourite places and he had walked the same streets as me.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Maddie May and Mara,
Thankyou so much for your generous offer. Even though this diary is two years old, I am still amazed at how lovely and kind everyone on here is. Always brings a bit of a lump to my throat if I am honest.:o
Fr££cycle is a great idea, but kissjen is correct. The films do have an expiry date on them and do degrade over time. I have seen some on ebay and did consider purchasing one just to what the quality would be like. I do think it may be worth a try though and I know DD1 would be speechless if she were to get more film and would totally understand that it may or may not be very good quality or work at all. The Polaroid films have some sort of a built in battery in them, that makes the flash and camera work, so again if the films were very old I wonder if the battery would then not be working ?
I do though think its a really lovely idea. The film she needs is a "Polaroid Colour Instant Film for use with a 600 type camera "I will join our local fr££cycle today and give it a try. You never know we could get lucky !
Thankyou for that lovely idea xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
