I've just requested a 4 minute shower timer free from our water supplier. Although we are not on a meter DS2 spends ages in the shower and it's then the cost of heating the water.
We've got a usage meter too......when we first had it it was OH going round switching everything off, it certainly pulls you up when you switch the kettle on and it practically goes of the scale. You can connect it to a computer and generate lovely charts and graphs but have never got round to do that.

I bought some batteries two weeks ago. As I couldn't figure out what they were for I have hidden them in my knicker drawer. The only safe place in my house. They were for my usage meter

Mrs B, you clearly are a life saver !!
I am off now to google OWL meters. Slightly baffled as to why I would go to the library to borrow one though ? I am sure my librarians would look at me like I was bonkers xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Wow I'm learning loads today. Can you really request a 4 minute free shower from the Water Company ? We are on a meter though so I am unsure if that would apply.
My parents have a usage meter and they love looking to see if its is smiling at them or is sad. I am not sure if they all have smiley faces though.;)
I love charts and bar graphs. I am addicted to checking the charts on the spending diary to see where I am wasting money, so I am sure I would take great delight in hooking the meter up to the computer !

:rotfl::rotfl: @dd! I tell my kids to run around like monkeys to dry off after a bath! It's so funny i dry them as much as they will stand there and take and then they get a pat on their bum and that's their cue to run around like loons and dry off :rotfl: Kids!

Oh OK DFW... but 6 mths better than nowt..and you see Mrs PG I am not mad..but I did have to google usage meters and libraries just now to check I wasn't going potty as well!!:rotfl:
In LB Kingston for example, (first entry I saw), by the way you can borrow the meter for 2 weeks..plenty of time to show DD1 the error of her ways:rotfl:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I think she may have learnt quickly, it has only been used for drying her hair since I posted, thank goodness, but I will still look into getting hold of a meter !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

My OH dries himself with the haridryer  It makes m laugh every time he does it!! Apparently it is something alot of people do, they had a section devoted to it on the radio and loads of people called in owning up to doing it too :rotfl::rotfl:Crazy world.0
