Yes Robin, she is old enough to postpone her birthday, but its difficult. They are very understanding but constantly have to postpone this or that, have early Christmases or late birthdays. He has missed so many of her birthdays and we were hoping that he would be around for her this year. She will have a lovely day come what may but she is a real Daddys Girl and she will really notice him not being there. I just feel upset for her and Mr PG as he hates missing out on things.
In the grand scheme of things its not major and I probably sound a bit moany and grumpy which I don't want to come across as.
I think I need to give myself another kick up the backside !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I am sure the Pinot Household will be happy and jolly as ever once we have both had a chance to have a bit of a rest.
Yes she has been poorly for a while now. She eats really well, isn't fussy at all . I am pumping her full of fresh smoothies, fruit, veg , homemade soups and vitamin tablets , you name it.
Yesterday the chemist ordered me in a bottle of tonic for her as the others I had tried didn't seem to be working . I spent £35 in the chemist yesterday on everything under the sun to try and get her better ! DD1 says she is paler than our white walls at the moment.
Think we all need a month in the sunshine ! Now wouldn't that be nice. X
This playing nurse is exhausting !

:j:j the iPad has been located. I haven't got to the bottom of the story yet though.
The only problem now is that Mr PG is now in a different country to the iPad , so it now needs to be flown to be reunited with him ! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Well, I'll be honest with you here MrsPG; I believe that children who are not mollycoddled end up as far better adults than the ones whose parents have 'protected' them from all the stresses of family Life.
A trick used by several services families of my acquaintance, is to make a cardboard 'Daddy' - an enlarged 'photo or just the face stuck onto a model is an amusing way of including the missing family member at celebrations (the model can be anything - even a broom-handle with Dad's 'photo taped on top!).
DD will also learn to really appreciate the special occasions when her family can all be together, and enjoy them all the more..
Glad to hear the Ipad has turned up.Has it got the tracking app installed?

Totally agree with you there Robin. They are used to him being away, its all they have ever known to be honest. He is ex forces also.
We have had Mr PG's head stuck on top of a cardboard Tinkerbell Fairy before , that was amusing !! He has even been on Skype on the laptop sitting on the sofa before now. We even all watched a footie match together that way once !! :rotfl:
Thankyou for your thoughts and suggestions, its lovely to hear your views and it really does help.
Its really nothing major and nothing we haven't had to do many times in the past. Its more that this was a dead cert that he would be here and now he is isn't and as she is feeling so poorly I didn't want to upset her further. I will hold off telling her for a few more days. I have found a flight that will enable the job to be finished and get him home on the evening of her birthday. All I need to do now is convince the client to pay for it.
I have a cunning plan !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Am keeping fingers crossed that Client is in a good mood and agrees to change DH's flight - hopefully you'll not have to say anything to DD about this potential hitch in the plans for her birthday.
If your DD and I have been afflicted by the same bug then I really feel for her. Have you checked her finger-nails and inside her eyelids for anaemia? ..Might be worth asking the GP to do a full blood screen if DD doesn't pick up soon (thinking of having bloods done myself as am getting very fed up with it now).0
