    Hi mrs PG
Have you got your lip glosses yet? Mine were sent out on mon but still no sign :( praying they come today.

My budget also gone out of the window this month although Mr Shelski has emptied the cupboards and we should be ok over Christmas and January with some bits and fresh stuff, apart from the turkey and chic log. Went to Aldi last night and got those, so just fruit and veg from farm shop now.
    Shelski x

No Shelski they havent turned up , posted Monday also apparently ! Girls gone into schoool empty handed and I have told them we will make pressie deliveries as soon as they arrive. Let me know if your turn up.

My cupboards are completely bare and freezer other than a packet of pork chops. I havent given any thought to what I will feed the family between now and chirstmas :o

I want to get Chrismtas over ( not wishing it away or anything, I love Christmas ) and settle back down, sort out meal plans, budgets etc. and get organised again. I feel its all drifted a bit these last few months x

Oh dear poor you and poor DD re the smoothies, hope it all cleans up with minimal fuss. Perhaps write you list whilst parked in the car away from the house so nothing can disturb you.

Good idea Granny, I need to take the recipes with me. Off out now, but my heart isnt in it for some reason.

DD was feeling a bit sensitive this morning without the Smoothie issue. Her friends have been harping on about the "end of the world "thing and whereas DD1 finds it all quite amusing, DD2 who is a bit of a worrier has worked herself into a bit of a stew, so the Smoothie incident sent her over the edge !! I have just looked and although I thought it looked ok, the carpet is still badly stained. I will tackle it again later now .

Hope you are ok, sorry I havent dropped in on you lately xx:o

Funny you should mention the end of the world thing as I nearly posted that "at the end of the day, its not like a dropped smoothie is the end of the world or anything". Tell your DD not to worry, it should have happened by now already. The Mayan calendar was created before the extra months were put into the calendar we use now, so December 21 2012, as they knew it, has been and gone many months ago.

I'm fine, my diary is a bit boring at the moment, nothing much to report debt wise as a little thing called Christmas seems to be getting in the way of my frugality. I haven't spent as much as in the past and even decided yesterday to do what was suggested and not spend money on posting cards out this year. I do feel mean but the cost of stamps is appalling so I decided to listen. DD, DM, DF, DS and OH all got special cards, other local close family members have also had cards hand delivered but anyone that needs a posted card hasn't had one this year. I'll blame the post man, as they are not likely to tell each other anyway :rotfl:

Mrs P, I remember the last time you had a murder in the house, or what looked like a murder. Although that time I laughed, this time I'm feeling quite sorry for your DDs. Maybe no drinks upstairs rule? That way they can't throw them down the stairs :)
Hope you get your shopping all sorted, we've just been let down by the MIL she was meant to be coming on xmas day so we didn't go down to my parents, now she's coming on Sunday (the day after we have a massive party for our friends in our flat!!!!) uh oh!

  • Sorry Mrs PG,

I posted at the end of your posts and hadn't commented on your smoothie disaster, you must think me very rude.
Hope it will come off the carpet in the end and DD2 isn't too traumatised. Think of the benefits the fruit will do for your skin (but not your blood pressure).
The lip glosses have just been delivered (hurray!) so DD is happy and I need to take her to her friends this afternoon.
DS and DH at the cinema having a boys' afternoon so need to decide what else to tackle before they get home.

There was an attempted delivery this afternoon, I am suspecting it was the lip glosses. I now need to go to the post office tomorrow to collect the parcel and do the delivery rounds to the friends before Christmas. I am glad yours arrived in time.

Smoothiegate and the End of the World appears to have been forgotten and the excitement of finishing school for Christmas has taken over !

Kerri, I used to have a no drinks rule upstairs when they were younger, but I thought at nearly 12 and 15 I had ruled out most disasters by now ! Clearly not. The rule may have to be re instated ! x

As the girls hit teenagerhood you may want to re-establish the no food or drinks upstairs ruling. Teenagers seem to forget how to bring cups/glasses/plates back downstairs. The cups etc get pushed under the bed and forgotten. In about three months together with any hair /dry skin/toenails that were under the bed you will find a new teenager culture growing in the cup, just in case the original one was not enough for you....

With regards to smoothiegate, Lakeland do a brilliant stain remover, can't for the life of me remember what it's called. The staff there are very helpful and if you tell them your shocking story they will find the product for you.

  • Mrs PG! Sorry (again) that it's been a while - but yet again your diary never fails to deliver. Have to admit to having a good old chuckle at the stairs murder/smoothie gate! You did however say that you like the smell of paint so I think it should be 'careful what you wish for' :-)

Speaking of which, I can't believe anyone would wish for a mankini to cycle in... but please do let me know how he gets on as I'm sure I would be the envy of all the commuters in a lovely lime green one piece. Maybe wait for summer though eh?

£180 for a turkey?! Luckily I live really close to a Waitrose AND an Aldi so I usually get my inspiration from Waitrose but buy all the food cheaply at Aldi.

Also, WELL DONE ON THE £20k!!! What a huge achievement (despite your car and cat's best efforts!).

Wishing you all a brilliant Christmas.
