  • Good God that's ridiculous

So glad managers aren't in today, need to curl up and sleep under my desk. I have sprite and a sausage sandwich, can't believe I left the party at 11pm and I'm still kinda hungover. That's what we get for having a party in a cheap bar.

  • Keri I am last minute panicking rather than shopping now I think !! Budgets are a bit out of control and with a lean month pay wise in January I need Christmas over to get back on track.

If it wasnt for feeding everyone this year I would be pretty sorted, most things are now wrapped but I have a few more pressies left to buy which I am intending doing today. Then I will hopefully take a trip to Aldi ( not Waitrose!!) on the way home and stock up on some food. Its the food that will blow the budget so will be dipping into Emergency Fund which I really dont want to do. The Keeping Up Appearances Meal for 13 people is expensive . I have managed to pick up some bargains in Matalan for the table setting, and the DD's and I will make the place settings from Scrabble Letters and we will make the favours. I am not taking a trip to Thorntons or Hotel Chocolat as I would have Once Upon a Life . That will keep the cost down. I am refusing to make desserts, have I said that already ? I would rather spend the time with the girls, and as you well know baking isnt really my thing.

I really need to write a shopping list but each time I have sat down to do it, something else has happened so its not done.

Slight disaster this morning in the Pinot Household, DD2 managed to kick over a glass of red smoothie which she had put on the floor on the landing, the glass fell through the banisters, down the stairs, all up the white walls ( I swear we have had this happen before, but I think I fell over walking up the stairs) it landed with a crash and smashed all up the radiator below. She was mortified and was close to tears. She knows we are trying to get other rooms painted and it literally looked like someone had been murdered on the stairs, as well as the walls now needing a lick of paint and another job for us to do before Christmas . I was very calm though, Mr PG, not quite so, as he nearly missed his train in the commotion. After dropping Mr PG at the station I came home to try and clean up as much as I could. Whilst I was scrubbing the carpets DD2 then decided to try and show me a re-enactment of what happened. Sadly it was all too realistic as she managed to drop the glass ( full with second glass of smoothie!) again . But this time I was on the stairs, by now covered head to toe in red berry smoothie.

This time it I really wasnt quite so calm !

  • Hi mrs PG
Have you got your lip glosses yet? Mine were sent out on mon but still no sign :( praying they come today.

My budget also gone out of the window this month although Mr Shelski has emptied the cupboards and we should be ok over Christmas and January with some bits and fresh stuff, apart from the turkey and chic log. Went to Aldi last night and got those, so just fruit and veg from farm shop now.

Oh dear poor you and poor DD re the smoothies, hope it all cleans up with minimal fuss. Perhaps write you list whilst parked in the car away from the house so nothing can disturb you.
