Pinot, I am hoping for another white Christmas here this year but wouold love a trip to Canada for Christmas. Mr P isn't well and we have been looking at booking a week in Malta or somewhere else sunny in the next few weeks. Don't have the cash but DS3 will lend us some. Mr P suffers from SAD and the last few weeks have been particularly bad for him.

I hope the shield dried in time for today :D

I would love a White Christmas too !

Im so sorry to hear that Mr Pooh is poorly. I really hope that you make it to the sunshine, as I am sure it would do him the world of good. I take it you have tried all those lights they sell for SAD sufferers ? I always wonder if they actually work as I am sure my Dad suffers from SAD. x

  • The Shield was dry and looked pretty good actually !

Poor Mr PG was beating himself up as when DD1 had to make one he spent hours with her helping her and it was amazing.
Unfortunately he got back from being away at 3pm yesterday and had to leave to jump on another plane at half 4, so he had the grand total of one and half hours including his packing to spend on t e shield with DD2. She obviously was happy to have him around for a bit and in the short amount of time they had, he managed to cut the shield from wood, glue it, bend it and clamp it so that it stayed curved and they spray painted it metallic blue. He made handles for the back so she could carry it and a pointy bit to kill the enemy that she painted silver ! All that was left was for me to help her draw and paint in the detail and tidy up ! We sent Mr PG a photo of the finished effort and I think we got top marks !

Its huge though, nearly as big as her, so DD1 had to help her carry it into school this morning :rotfl:

  • Morning all, I think in my rush to deice and dash this morning I've left my phone at home  it'll do me good but it feels weird already haha.

I also discovered that my left windscreen wiper isn't working properly :( Need to fix that asap, it's just not hitting the surface.

Payday today! Woo! Christmas party next week and a gig so money needed for those, thankfully I've already paid for drinks for the party and already paid for the gig ticket I just need to pay for metro there and any drink.

  • Yey, we have some work filtering in now for January. Thats got to be good as we started 2012 with one days work and a bit of a panic . :D

December looking quiet but thats usual for the time of year unless we agree to him owrking Christmas Day and Boxing Day and I am not doing that. We have doneit enough over the years and Im not doing it again if I can help it ! Mr PG needs some time off though, very desperately, so I am not worried yet.

I have two poorly children at home today, one of which I suspect is skivving just a tad as she managed to rustled up the energy to knock up blueberry American Style Pancakes for us all for breakfast with maple syrup and cream !! She has though, left the tidying up to me as she is currently curled up watching a movie ! :rotfl:

Girls are being good though and are letting me work and not disturbing me ,although DD2 keeps trying to convince me to ignore work today and watch movies with her instead. I have so far not given into the temptation, but watch this space !! :rotfl:

  • Your Xmas sounds good. I've never been to Canada but it is somewhere I fancy.

Being locked in the Hotel Chocolat Xmas brochure would do me for this year :)

    HHx

Do you sneak into Hotel Chocolat, hover for a bit and hope they bring the freebies out HH ?? !! :D

  • I'm singing along to Christmas songs in the lab, they've been banned from my office so I have no problem having them on in the lab as I'm on my own haha.

Managed to get a bargain of a 110 wash box of washing powder for £8 for OH's Mam so that should make her day. I'm thinking of going to look for a Christmas tree tonight after work but not sure the best place to head. Must phone brother and parents to see if I'm supposed to be going for Sunday dinner this Sunday or next Sunday.
