  • Yep I know NL is having trouble also. Grr !!
Someone posted a link on her diary to another thread where someone is having the most terrible problems. I have only had time to read the beginning and the last few posts, but its actually so upsetting to see the pressure being put on the poor lady. We had a similar problem years ago, DD2 was newborn, Mr PG was away in Baghdad and we owed THEM. I called and told them they could have the total amount in 10 days. The woman was horrendous, refused the request, tried to bully me into paying on cards and or taking bank loans . When I said no she threatened to send in the baliffs and reduced me to tears . By the time I finished on the phone I was an absolute nervous wreck. Needless to say none of the above happened and I sent them the cheque in full 10 days later, but we have battled with them ever since.

What makes me crazy is that I know of people who are paying nothing yet living a lovely lifestyle. We and NL and many others are making frequent payments and reducing the bill, but thats not good enough for them. My Accountant was amazed when I told her our recent call to them to try and set up an arrangment had resulting in nothing, only threats. They are apparently trying to help small business and individuals due to the Current Economic Climate and all that, but there clearly were no signs of any help forthcoming when we rang them !!

Maybe it was the Womans time of the month, I swear had we spoken to a man he would have been more helpful. Its always the bloody women that give me the trouble !! :rotfl:

    Evening Pinot

I don't blame you for losing sleep, the letter from the IR and the dance teacher not ringing you back are the kinds of things that would keep me awake fuming  I gather the bint hasn't called you back yet

I'm sorry that I haven't been right through your diary but I have missed too much, but do you mind me asking why your daughter is having acupuncture?

Hope you're ok and have taken out your irritation with the lady on the phone on the ironing :rotfl:

I have had time to hassle her today, have only just stopped rushing about recently.

DD1 is having acupunture for injuries to her neck and shoulders she suffered in a road accident, it was a long time ago now but it rears its ugly head often . The first session actually appears to have helped a little. Now I need toconvince her to go back for the next session later this week !

I am good thankyou, a tad tetchy today but otherwise pretty good !

.....lived a beautiful Princess. She was loved by everyone, happy, kind and caring and living in her own special world inhabited by unicorns, candyfloss clouds , rainbows and pots of gold.

One day the poor Princess awoke to find her most treasured posession, her mobile phone was sadly not working. She summoned her father the King , who rather bleary eyed , as he had been attending to the problems beset on his kingdom until the early hours of the morning assured the Princess he would resolve the problem and she shall have a new mobile phone in her possesion within days.

Sadly for the Princess, whilst attending the Kingdoms School that very same day, she happened to be shat upon by a rather large pigeon , staining her Regal Robe and causing her much embarasment. Unable to summon her Lady In Waiting, whose duty it was to attend her every need , she borrowed the phone of one of her Royal Courtiers and sent a BBM message to the Lady In Waiting advising her of the tragedy that had befallen her. Eager to please the Princess ,the Lady In Waiting assured the Princess that were she to empty the pockets of her Regal Robe by 4pm that very same day, the clothing would be as good as new and show no sign of Bird Shat by tthe following day. The Lady In Waiting also offered to collect the Princess from the Kingdoms School that day as a gesture of kindness to her and to save her further embarrasement from walking home covered in Poo !! .

Sadly 4pm came and went and the Lady In Waiting stood and waited and waited and waited for the clothing to be brought to her. She reminded the Princess on several occasions ( 8 to be exact !!!) that the item really was needed in order to restore it to its former glory by the following day. At 7.20 pm the Lady In waiting had reached for a sneaky glass of Pinot Grigio in her frustration. By 7.40, she had sent her much younger and prettier Apprentice to try and jolly along the Princess and remind her of the urgency of furnishing the Lady In waiting with the offending item ( and also to tell her that she was getting rather hacked off waiting ) The Princess sadly was engaged at the time on the Royal Throne but called to the Apprentice to take the Offending Regal Robes to her Lady In Waiting for her. The Apprentice was told that the items were to be found either on her Royal Bed or deposited in an ugly screwed up heap on her bedroom floor. The Apprentice sadly could not find the item at which point she returned to The Lady In Waiting who hollered in a very lady like manner up the stairs that the Princess had until 8pm precisely ( four hours after the initial request) to provide the Regal Robe or it would still be covered in Bird Shat the folllowing morning. At 8 pm precisely after hearing the Royal Throne flush and the Regal Shower turn on the Lady in Waiting and Apprentice safely assumed that the Princess actually was relishing in the idea of wearing the Offending Unclean Robe the following day and loaded and turned on the Washing Machine to wash the Royal Apprentices Robes which had been covered in ink that day, but had been handed to the Lady In Waiting at 4pm as requested.. At 9 pm they settled down together, with a glass of Milk and a chilled glass PG to read a book about a Donkey.:D

At 9.30 the Apprentice bid the Lady In Waiting goodnight and whispered in her ear that the Princesses Offending item had actually made its way out of the bedroom but was hung on the bannisters on the upstairs landing, clearly awaiting its collection by the unsuspecting Lady In Waiting or perhaps the Apprentice herself. The Apprenctice rather naughtily decided to it was time the Princess learnt a few lessons in doing things when they are asked and it was agreed that they would pretend not to have noticed the Regal Robe hanging upstairs, as the washing machine was already loaded and the Lady In Waiting now firmly on strike !

During this Royal Drama, the King had sadly been summoned abroad but was most thrilled to find that he had free WiFI on his plane and therefore was eagerly messaging his family from 30,000ft in the air ( how on earth does that work ?!!) for news of their day ! He was not too impressed by what he heard !

At 10.30 pm the Princess burst into the Lounge, demanding an answer as to why her Regal Robe had not been washed and was still apparently covered in Bird Shat. The LAdy in Waiting taken by surprise asked the Princess if she had actually tip toed her pretty little feet down the stairs and handed the item to her to be washed. Of course the Princess had done no such thing and demanded that the blame sadly lay with the Apprentice who had infact walked past the Blazer and "must have seen it hanging there !!" The blame squarely landed at the feet of the Apprentice.

Unusually for the Lady In waiting she dared raise her voice to the Princess and put her in her Pretty Little Place . The Princess , sadly flounced out of the room to rest her pretty little head once more, clearly blaming her Royal Courtiers, Maids, Apprentice and Lady In Waiting for the state of affairs.

The Lady In Waiting is going to retire now, keeping her fingers crossed that the Princess may finally have learned her lesson and maybe next time ,when she is quite literally hit by such a tradegy it will not take her 6 hours to jolly herself along and present the Lady In Waiting with the item of clothing she requires freshly laundered for the following day . She hopes that she and may also use this lesson in other areas of her life and actually do things when they are asked of her !!

    The End !!!! xxx

  • Heh heh love it!!!

Reminds me of a time when DH & I were newly married & both working full time. He regularly got home at 5pm but it wasn't unusual for me to have to work until 9pm and I was struggling to keep up with the housework etc (DH is much better now but at the time never seemed to help round the house!). I wrote a story in the same sort of way about a princess who couldn't keep the castle clean as she had so many other things to occupy her time, but the wonderful prince took pity on her and gallantly rode around the castle on his trusty steed 'Dyson'. The princess was then so happy she *ahem* rewarded him accordingly :o.

I thought the story was inspired & happily trotted off to work, leaving the written piece on the bed for him to find when he got home and went up to change his clothes.

He rang me at work that night to say the hoovering was done but he had shat himself when he got home to find what he thought was a 'Dear John' letter on the bed and I'd left him :rotfl:.

  • . [FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial].............. The Lady In Waiting could not sleep, she tossed and she turned, but could not settle. The events of the evening replaying over and over in her mind.

Her duty was to the Princess who she loved with all of her heart, to cause her upset and further embarrassment was more than she could bear.

At 1am She swiftly snuck across the landing , into the Princesses bedroom and in the darkness felt around on the floor ( as she was sure that must be where they had been hung ) for the Royal Robes. After a short time she found them, gathered them in her arms and crept downstairs so as not to wake the Apprentice , who would , she was sure give her a telling off for be so soft ! Ever grateful to the King for scanning and Pdf fing the Washing Machine Instructions and loading them onto the Ipad for her, she set about discovering how to put the Regal Robes on a 14 min quick wash.

Whilst waiting ( the Donkey book was finished ! ) the Lady In Waiting pondered how she could ever have even considered sending the Princess to school in dirty Royal Robes. She came to the conclusion that for a mad moment her Royal Duties and The Princess , of Whom she would do anything in the world to keep happy must have not been foremost in her mind that evening . Her Position within the Royal Family was one that she did not want to lose and made her the happiest Lady In Waiting Ever . At 1.14 precisely the Lady In Waiting withdrew the Robes from the Washing Machine and hung on a beautiful Rose Scented Padded Hanger in the Airing Cupboard and climbed back into bed hoping against hope that the blasted Robes were dry and fresh smelling by the time the Lady In Waiting awoke the Princess in the morning ,with freshly ground coffee and a smoked salmon bagel , served to her in bed .......naturally !!
