The teacher sounds quite nasty. I would be so annoyed. Are you going to say something?

Unacceptable. Just using the term 'redeem yourself' is wrong. Let alone expecting a child to train other children. That is the teachers' job.
I would suggest complaining in writing and cc the head teacher.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

She is the owner of the dance school, girls have been going for years without any problems at all, its just the last 6 months or so when I was struggling to get them to class regularly for one reason or another that it began.
I am furious xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Definitely complain. It's out and out bullying to be horrible to someone and then suggest they don't tell anyone.
I assume you pay for the dance school so you have every right to go or not go, and to expect top notch service when you do go. XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Yes I still paid regardless of if they went or not and I know for a fact many of the children miss classes even more than the girls. She seems to have a bit of a bee in her bonnet about DD1. Apparently DD2 ended up defending her a few weeks ago when she was taking pot shots at DD1 in general class discusssion when she wasnt even there and was studying for a partial GCSE exam ! DD2 was livid.
Thankfully DD1 is a tough cookie and it hasnt upset her just made her angry. She also happy smiley and polite and sometimes I think it can irritate the teachers who seem to expect the teenagers to be a miserable bunch and they arent quite sure how to deal with DD1 as she is always bubbly whatever the situation !
I think I will ring later if I get a chance and find out exactly what her problem is ?LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

If it was me I would have to say something and I agree when kids are polite and happy they can sometimes be picked on (had experience of teachers at school). IMO all teachers should be impartial and un-biased. Your DD deserves encouragement and support, not sarky comments.......and you pay her too.
Sorry off my soap box now and back to work. :rotfl:

DD1 had her first Acupuncture Session, it really hurt her as her muscles are so tense. She was very brave, the needles were in her neck, shoulders and back, but she got very upset when we left.
I hate seeing her so sad.
I made both girls Sweet Potato and Coconut soup , so they had that with garlic bread when they came in from school and DD1 is now fast asleep in bed. The Acupuncture has made her sleepy and I think she has exhausted herself from crying xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi really hope the acupuncture works. Know my grandma used to swear it was the only thing that helped her arthritis.
Can't stop for long but just to say I think you need to have a chat with the dance teacher. It's not fair on DD1 and maybe the teacher needs to know about your op and DD1s pain....or reminded of it? Don't think you should leave it. It's obvious its been going on for a while. If its some weird way of trying to get her to commit more ( lots of girls, as you know, give up dance and sport when they are teenagers) it's a very old fashioned and un child focussed way of doing it! More like a throwback to the 1970s!
