Agree with all previous posts. You are not being selfish in the slightest. I too would be fuming and would rant by phone/email/text or all 3 at person in question.:mad: Silly people.

You, Mr P and the girls are the priority. Try to ignore them if you can x

Pin him down ( it was Piqs suggestion to strip him naked !:rotfl:) then we were going to spray him with Sun In to make his hair turn ginger so that he could play the leading man who apparently is ginger in the book.

Get yourself to Asda so as not to be left out ! :D

Asda's sell naked ginger men? What time do they close?....

    Honest answer??

Your first responsibility is to your immediate family, husband and daughters. To them you give your time. They rely on you to keep your family running and together. That alone is a 24/7 job. Anything or anyone comes second to them.

Here here, well actually MSE DFDs come second, after that comes anyone/anything else.

Oh Honey I so agree with all the other Pinot groupies, you are soooooooo not in the wrong.

What I find helps in these situations is to write a letter or email vent your anger and then delete.

I did that at the weekend. My darling step mum after we took them out to dinner for dads bday was talking about my neices wedding next year. Its going to be a posh affair, and SM comment to me was " it would be nice if you could manage to lose some weight before then":mad:

My reply, " dont worry I will stand at the back out of the way as usual"

Needless to say when I got home was seething, but wrote letter saying what I really thought then ripped it up all better:p

look after yourself and hope all the family are well

What a mean thoughtless SM  Remember you mentioning her before....

I do this at work all the time, type the email in anger, reread until i have calmed down then delete and go into panic that i have accidentally sent it and will shortly be fired :rotfl:

As you know that is just the sort of thing my DM would say, thinking she was being helpful and telling me something I don't already know x

Definitely mean and so hurtful coming from someone you love. My 1st thought too was I'd probably intend to press delete and inadvertently, switching brain off, press send instead. Much safer for me to put pen to paper or type whilst offline :rotfl:

    Hi all

Pinot - ((hugs)) - it really is hard when other people have no idea of your situation (financial) and although they know the nature of your work don't really take this on board. I mention the money thing as i know i'd not let things get to me as much before the debt but i think the money stress has impacted on the amount of stress i get about other things too. I wonder if there is anyone who can wind us up as much as Out-Laws do though ? My Mr is just the same - very laid back about stuff whereas i'm left seething :o

Newroadahead - ((hugs)) i'm getting alot of comments about my weight at the moment and it is upsetting. Although most upsetting comment i get is (person says this to other female) 'You look gorgeous, you really do, honestly you are so beautiful, you don't need any make-up because you're so pretty... etc. etc.' and then to me 'oh yeah you look nice as well' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I am just pleased i would never dream of speaking to someone like that. Or when i was so skint i couldn't afford a haircut for a very long time. Had it done and comment was 'Oh i didn't realise you'd had it done, oh yes thats much better it was an absolute mess before' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: -

Oh and Pinot i don't think you imagined the hair colour - i think it mentions copper highlights in mr grays hair :) Must admit i was given it to read and have not finished it - think i've had it a month now and keep thinking must read it so i can return it. Oh well - too much going on really.
