Happy belated birthday Mrs P, I can't remember if I said it before. I've been neglecting all the diaries I'm afraid and I don't really have any real excuse as I spent 2 hrs just lying in bed feeling glum today, when I should have read diaries to cheer me up.

I'm most impressed with your plumbing skills, and the girls making the cake has made me hungry. Although I completely understand the panic about the surprise party.

You've made me chuckle with the window cleaner though, serves him right for being a peeping tom why should you have to pay him for looking at you all nekkie :p

    Morning all,

Well the sun is shining !! :j

Reading the diaries I think a lot of us have been feeling down and fed up these last few days, I really dont think this wind , rain and generally miserable weather is helping, so as I have sunshine, I am determined to get motivated today .:T

Mr Pinot arrived back last night , he is around this morning before heading off again for a few days. I have lots of things I need moving and a few bits that need to go to the tip,so I will ask him very nicely to help me with that before he leaves again. The garden furniture, bought as a temporary very very cheap measure 5 summers ago has finally given up the ghost. It is actually embarassing, I couldnt alow anyone to sit on it incase the collapse. I'm not sure how we will manage to replace it, but it needs to be done somehow.

Yesterday I finally got my letters that I have been writing finished and down to the post office. So thats:-

Natwest re the Credit cArd Charges Refund
HMRC re the PArtnership Tax REturn
M&S re the credit card ( they are hounding me with calls though despite me asking to deal with everything in writing)
BRUM MIDSHIRES - re Mortgage Exit Fees
FOS - Re Lloyds dealing of my PPI Claim
MBNA - re a PPI Claim

Hopefully my letterbox will be busy in the next few weeks with replies.:D

I have today filled another sack with clothes for Cash for Clothes, so I need to arrange colletion of that.

Thats it for now off to make the beds and stick some washing on, then back to work for me today.

Have a lovely day all, I will be back later. x

    Morning Pinot

I almost feel sorry for Mr P, but not quite! It's his home too, so helping to declutter is in his job description.

Clothes for Cash? I've sort of heard of it, have you used them before and if so, are they any good. I've got clothing that won't sell on e*bay, so even a few more pennies would be helpful.

    Hi everyone:hello:

Just catching up..blimey its only been 2 days and there was two pages to read:T

Understand about the panic over financial arrangements for your birthday meal..I would have been exactly the same.. Control Freak Numero Uno checking in...:rotfl:

Really really sorry about your back. You do need to keep the pain barriers up though as much as possible..if you need stronger meds then you do. you may also find that some pharmacists will deliver if you ask them nicely..

Love the window cleaner story...:rotfl: I fear I have accidentally flashed the public a few times over the last 10 years we have lived here,,and OH certainly has:eek: but thankfully never the window cleaner..thank goodness as he is a near neighbour:rotfl:

Today is a mixed day. I agree the weather is making me feel more overwhelmed by stuff and am getting a cold etc. I also think, PG, it makes any joint or muscular pain worse so as I also have some (and I am now worse from dragging around suitcases on and off trains for the last 72 hours) I have put the heating on and I can feel myself visibly relaxing...so you may have to bite the bullet, look after your back and switch the heating on:( especially if you are sitting hunched over a PC for a long time working

I do understand about all the upfront costs. My work expenses regularly run into £1k. Its hard for you when to boot they don't pay regularly.

I would have NO problem at all taking the DDs out for a couple of days. We do, always politely request well in advance and emphasise the educational and social benefits of time with family. It works for us. It really helps that they are never ill (or maybe they are but I send them, to school anyway..I am so harsh;)!!) so basically their overall attendance is good. Go for it. Don't think about it twice..and the story about trainer socks..tell the HT to stuff it....:rotfl:(and sell front row tickets when you do!)

Oh..and is this the sign of the new times...last pot of hair wax (that OH and I share) was £12...the latest was £1.99 from the local chemist. OH said I am not paying £12 again:T and took an executive decision...have no idea whether it works but worth a try:)

Ok checking back in now Piq quickly.

Clothesfor cash.com, I have used them a few times. To be honest as long as you dont expect to get alot for what you sling in the sack and appreciate that they are incredibly picky over what they will and wont take, then its worth a shot. The sacks are absolutely huge and I think the max they pay is £18 a sack.By the time they have picked through it I usually only get about £9, but every little helps as they say. I use them ONLY for things that wouldnt sell on ebay and are cluttering the house. Its easy to use, you request a sack online and when its full ,go back on line and arrange a collection day and within a few days your cheque arrives. But, to reiterate only use them if you cant get rid of things anyother way xx

Actually I willpost this over on your diary incase you dont see it.

Mrs B, Helloooooo how wonderful to see you again. I will answer your post later, off to a meeting with the Bank Manager now

In the grand scheme of things this seemed like a perfectly good idea at the time !!

Mr P, wants to lose some weight, needs to get fit , but rarely gets free time, so he invented a grand plan !! :D

Sell an item on ebay that is beloved to him, and use the funds to purchase a new bike. This was then to be used instead of taking the tube when in London ( therefore very MSE) and would be dis-assembled when elsewhere in the country or abroad . Where Mr Pinot would travel the bike shall go too!! ( Not the wife you notice :rotfl:) Less cab fares when abroad and Mr Pinot would become lean once more !

There is an incentive I hasten to add, a rather grand wedding we are attending in approx 10 weeks time where fake tans, and bleached white teeth and very very flat tummies and designer outfits are the order of the day !!

Well today was the day, the bike was ordered ( cost price , we are lucky enough to have a relative to own a bicycle shop ) and I drove him to collect his shiny new bicycle ! It was approx an hour long bike journey back home, I had concerns if he would make it, but left him there full of confidence (ish). He had assured me he had, within budget ,ordered all necessary biking attire incl helmet and fluorescent clothing !

Approx half an hour into his journey , I recieved a mercy call . He had a puncture !! Unfortunately, neither spare inner tube nor puncture repair kit came within budget and he had neither ! So off I trundled to rescue him leaving the poor children stranded at school , but with instructions to meet up and accompany each other home !

Well, I have to say he was a sight to behold, an absolute vision in black lycra !!

Now Mr Pinot isnt a small man, not huge, but of rugby type build, but had been recommended by bike shop owner,
that not only did he require padded lycra cycling shorts to keep his bottom comfy , but that as he was a slightly larger man, that there was a danger of said cycling shorts unfortunately not withstanding gravity and falling down whilst riding, due to the friction apparently :eek:and therefore potentially shocking any car drivers who may be .in the vicinity !! In an effort to avoid this and not wanting to cause any distress to other members of the community, Mr Pinot agreed to be sold a ...... Lycra Mankini , therefore avoiding any wardrobe malfunctions whilst cycling !!!:rotfl:

How I didnt keep on driving rather than stop and rescue him in the lay-by, pretending he really wasnt mine , I will never know !!

On that note, I bid you all a lovely Friday evening and am off to pour a glass of chilled White Stuff to calm my nerves ( meds or not !!) xx

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:black lycra mankini:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Am choking with laughter, don't know what's funniest, the potential of Mr PG's bottom hanging out and scaring all the drivers or the mankini :rotfl::rotfl:and a padded seat to the shorts....

This has made my evening, it's just as well I'm on my own and don't have to explain why I'm laughing out loud at my laptop!
