We had an emergancy sparky out this morning, and he agreed, it was the kitchen light (the wires for it are litterly where you stand to get in the bath) dunno what he has done (I let OH deal with the workmen, they have the ability to make me feel like a schoolgirl)

But the bath works now, with and without the light on.

I think I might touch the taps just to make sure though ;) :rotfl:

    OMG!

Did I not say that it could be a lighting circuit??!!

Someone else mentioned the RCD. IIRC correctly I mentioned that not all the installation would be protected by the RCD unless it's got a TT earthing system.

IIRC I was replying to Nobleck's post.

Anyway that's not important. The important thing is that you're safe :)

Did you call the electrician out yourself or was it via the council? Make sure you're not out of pocket!

Jason, the flooring is bare floorboards at the moment until the lino goes down.

    Good Glad to hear it.

However, I would now want to inspect your equipotential bonding in your bathroom. If this was properly installed then you would not have experienced the symptoms you did when the fault was present.

Agree with Hugo even if he is a smartass for gloating that his theory was right.
