most ads removed except last 4 which were reported individually
but e-mailed gumtree about them
i feel we are getting there with what i have spotted but there are so many more causing serious financial misery especially at this time of year.
what with people buying prams cots drums guitars wardrobes dining tables etc
to see their hard earned cash going to a bunch of low life is awful.
these scammers will be back and the scam will continue.
why
the borough police have not been given the financial resources to go outside the uk. soca and the fraud squad have but will they - that i don't know
the scammers know this and will continue with this scam until it becomes as well known as western union and less of an earner.
the two main parties in this are gumtree and ukash and without either the scam could not continue or at least be as big
if gumtree even made the small decision to only accept ads with telephone numbers then the scammers could not answer technical questions about the items
would be ignoring calls which would set the buyers thinking
and it would be a hastle to change sim cards
the scammers do not want to talk to the buyer.
it is ok to ban the poster and remove the ad but the answer is to stop the scam at source.
it is time for gumtree to hold its hands up and say
this is one of many massive scams on gumtree and we have to implement the safety issues of ebay who own them.
some would say ebay has problems as well but hopefully not like gumtree

then it could be the perfect crime
for my part i am waiting on a foi from parcelforce due the end of the month re how big this scam is and when they became aware of it
the puzzling thing about the scam is it did not start with parcelforce it started with ups
that begs the question what did ups do (if anything) to end their association with the scam and have parcelforce done enough (if anything) to end their association with the scam.
ukash had 8 weeks to settle my complaint but have heard nothng since.
when the 8 weeks is up (sometime in january) then my complaint against their negligence in allowing this scam to continue for two years will be heard by the financial ombudsman. win or lose i'll let you know.
after i get the foi request back from parcelforce then i will send all i have recorded to the PM for review
if my dealings with ukash and gumtree are anything to go by then i feel that it will only end by their hand being forced either by trading standards the fsa or the govermnment.
indeed for gumtrees part it is only recently that i started to get emails written by a human as i think they had run out of automated replies.- but i continue to be a thorn in their side.
in reporting the fake ads here it has enabled us to see the tip of a hugh iceberg and i am glad i was a part of that. but its up to you good people to put pen to paper and alert the man (david cameron) that enough is enough and no department wants to take responsibility for ending this scam and asking him IS THIS THE PERFECT CRIME.

The exact same thing has just happened to my brother, £130 on some decks from ebay, ask him to get u-kash vouchers, never hear from them again! Surely you need more than simply the code to be able to cash the vouchers? Has anyone had any success getting any money back or heard anything from her/gumtree? It's appalling that gumtree are still letting her list! And that ukash are obviously doing nothing to make their system safer. Just before xmas as well. Absolute scum.

Have been scammed out of £60.00 using a Ukash voucher for payment for a table and chairs off Gumtree.

Seller went by the name of Amy and/or Amanda Turner with the email address [EMAIL="amanda78turner@gmail.com"]amanda78turner@gmail.com[/EMAIL].

Email requesting payment came from "parcelforce worldwide" with the email address: [EMAIL="courier-updates@post.com"]courier-updates@post.com[/EMAIL]

Only cottoned on when I phoned parcelforce and they couldn't find the tracking number.

Have notified UKASH and Action Fraud.

Can't believe I have been so stupid.

Have also noticed the same photo on an Ebay advert which has just closed with the winning bid being £124.00

they were there but could not find
got 3 today
wont post the ads anymore as given too much away to any unsavioury scum
i think they are feeling the financial loss as got one posting in birmingham when the map said blackheath

Hi Cheekychap,
Glad you're still on with hunting these scammers down. There is a Blackheath just outside of Birmingham though (classed as Rowley Regis). Only know as I used to live around the corner.
All I keep getting from Gumtree is a feedback survey asking if I have been pleased with their response!
