the wife nearly got done was just about to get the voucher when i googled it and came here. close escape, why cant the police just trace her from her ip and shut her down (if she is a she) i might set my son on her he can hack her machine and give her some nasty viruses if the police cant stop her

As for sending viruses etc, I sugegst that your due dilligence prevented you becoming a victim, but becarefull that you do not also become another assisin

Just got a dodgy text reply from 'Deb from Gumtree'. Email -deborah75regan at gmail.com.

Sadly a pram this time, I'm guessing they do well from baby stuff. Sickos.
  • our scam was for a corner sofa on gumtree all the standard messages that she send out:-

"I've also received a copy of the payment instructions. They do indeed take payments in cash but not directly, it seems you'll need cash to buy an UKASH voucher from a shop, newsagent or supermarket that has the PAYPOINT sign. The voucher is the receipt you'll need to show to the driver who will scan the barcode and payment is complete :) nothing simpler.

You'll need to scan the UKASH voucher or take a close-up picture using your mobile phone and reply with it to the email from parcelforce. Her (link) you can find the nearest shop and ask for the voucher.
    Hope this helps,
    Mel"

    Hi all,

So sorry to read all the posts on people losing money, how cold hearted must you be to perpatrate these crimes.

Anyhow after reading through the thread I noticed that most people have reported the scammer to Gumtree and Ukash, but I wondered if anyone had reported this to Gmail or the fake royal mail address which as far as i can see is an @consultant.com email.

After having a quick look these address' seem to belong to an american registered company caled mail.com

I appreciate the scammers may just use another email, but surely if mail.com is made aware they can close that email and may even have some idea of where the scammer originate from in relation to an ip.

I'm not techy or very good with computers so im sorry if this isn't a feesable suggestion, but surely anything is worth a try, even if it just puts them out of action for a little while.

Well well well! Guess who has just emailed me about a Brompton (fold up bike) 'Deb from Gumtree'. Email -deborah75regan at gmail.com !

I was immediately suspicious as the txt message I was first sent, could NOT be replied to it was from ”deb.s.iphon”.

Many thanks for this thread to the adding key email names to be alert too!

    GTK (Good to know!)
  • same scam on gumtree for me.
    the name is deborah75regan@gmail.com

beware! I checked online before paying thank goodness or i could be out of £110!
  • Hi I have just avoided a similar scam - the name being used is deborah regan. She is selling a nicely priced drum kit on Gumtree.

I replied to an add in Southampton for a TD-9 and it was this scam, still there even though I have reported it.

There is now a TD-6 appeared in Bristol that is the same scammer again. Have not messaged but same Price £370 which is way to cheap as it comes with extra cymbals and PM-10.

    Beware people..
