UPS UKASH UKCASH Gumtree Scam and scams in general

I was also a victim of this, my lack of understanding of the way ukash operate left me vulnerable to these conmen. Luckily I cancelled the voucher.code through ukash almost immediately after giving it to them and they were only able to take one pound of the 140 I cashed. My confidence is completely gone now. To get a refund ukash instruct me to print off a refund application form from their website and send it to them along with a photocopy of my driving licence for I'D and a recent bank statement. This is making alarm bells ring again but they say they need proof of who I am, that I am the original ticket holder and where to pay the money back. I have contact hunters several times as this is a scam ad by Sarah Harlow alias number 105446329 on gum tree. It hasn't been removes. I think if gumtree continue to ignore this fraud they should be shut down or make accountable for compensating who ever is defrauded after they have ignored important information.from victims of fraud.0

Yes I thought this too, the messages are in perfect English with correct spellings and grammar as well and words like 'ta' that you wouldnt expect a non English speaker to use. Then again those messages seem like the only ones they use and can't seem to reply to questions etc. Can the ukase vouchers be used abroad?0 -
They are used to send money abroad, thats how the scam works.
The Scam will stop when Greedy mugs stop thinking they are getting something worth more than they are paying for it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Exactly the same scam and the communications were to the letter.

To blame a scam on people trying to get something extortionately expensive for cheap is ridiculous.

I found our perfect tent on gumtree... as with everyone else we got the same replies in email about sending someone to deliver it etc etc. Luckily I saw this thread on another gumtree advert warning me. I have now also discovered the same tent pictures and wording on ebay, so have reported them to ebay as well! People like this make me sick. Thank you to everyone for posting because I would have parted with £300 of our savings for nothing. The tent they are selling is an outwell norfolk lake, and they are now using the name of Teresa Sutton.0

I wonder if I'm one of the 'greedy' people you clever types are referring to? I used £230 of the compensation I got for breaking my neck in a car crash, to try to buy a sofabed so I could sleep downstairs and get to the loo more easily. I didn't know about the Ukash system, because I've never used it before. Very similar circumstances to those of the many low income families and elderly people who have been scammed by the same outfit. Has damning me as 'greedy' made you feel superior? I don't know how privileged you are, but to me £230 for a used sofa bed isn't very cheap. I just really needed it. Thanks for making me feel even worse though. Nice work.0
