Joking aside: Plese do not do this!

I did this earlier this year as I got a fantastic deal on a pair off boots in the sale (£40 down from £150 delivery included). They were only slightly too small and it was more width then length (I have odd wide feet and narrow heels!) I thought they'd stretch and I'd wear them in as they were leather.

Within 2 months I had "the beginnings of bunions" (as described by the physio, the sports science student, the orthopedic doctor, the orthopedic consultant, the gym instructor and my mum also agreed my feet were looking kind of odd- I should add, those people I had been seeing about a completely different issue and they just happened to notice the bunion I had been trying to glaze over!)

I was so shocked- not only does this NOT run in my family AT ALL -at least not in the past 4 generations and to their knowledge further back then this, but it was so sudden and apparently once they're there you can't do anything but try to stop then getting worse and there is no known cure. Even surgery doesn't get rid of them all and they have just the same chances of growing back afterwards.

I had to wear toe splints and watch what I put on my feet. I also read up on some foot exercises I could do to help myself as even with surgery which would seem inevitable, they can and do grow back with huge ease and scarring is for life. My feet seem fine now, they still look a little odd but not as bad as they were before and the cramping has almost all gone but that wasn't without me putting in a lot of work.

So please, and this is to anyone, if your boots are to small and are not the floppy stretch-within-a-week type Uggs, don't wear them! They may well stretch in time but not without the risk of them leaving their mark first. Bunions are not only painful but they get worse and worse and then too painful to walk before a doctor puts you on a waiting list for surgery which would leave you unable to walk properly for a while and STILL might not resolve the problem!
• Just got an email so looks like I'm getting a £30 card instead of a £50 one

Dear Customer,

We are writing with regard to the Kurt Geiger gift card that you recently purchased using the £20 gift card given away free with Elle.

We've noticed that an additional promotion was added to this transaction. Unfortunately, this is contrary to the terms and conditions of the Elle promotion which state 'This gift card is redeemable on full price merchandise only and can not be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.' As such, we've deducted the additional promotional discount from the gift card you purchased meaning the card you receive will be credited with £20 less than the denomination of the card you purchased.

We hope this is clear and should you have any questions please contact Customer Services on +44 (0) 845 257 2571, online.info@kurtgeiger.com

Well done to those who already registered theirs with a £50 value!

I got this email too, I ordered goods not a voucher so does that mean that the Elle gift card I used will have a balance of -£20?! Surely they cant take more money out my account, only £14 came out.
£20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**
• i just received this email aswell but i received the 2 x £20 gift vouchers and £10 necklace a couple of days ago. they are for my mum for xmas so i opened an account in her name just to register the vouchers and see the value and they haven't taken any off. £40 was credited to her account.

• The boots I ordered arrived this morning and same as others has said they are way too small I am a Size 5 but ordered Size 6 - 39 according to their sizing chart, I'm wondering is the WOMAN's sizing comparison chart is wrong as it differs from the MEN's sizing ,,,, there Size 6 is 40..

• I received the email too, but I only ordered goods (I did manage to use both the welcome code and the Elle voucher), unfortunately I do have to send them back, but maybe they just sent the email to anyone who ordered using both codes?

If not, I look forward to receiving my £30 gift card ;) :rotfl:
• I got the same email and was very confused as I didn't order a gift card and my shoes came a couple of days ago.

It doesn't say on the Elle card that it can't be used against reduced items, so I went to look on their website as it says t&c's are on there. I've had a good look but I can't find them at all.

Am I right in thinking that when buying online, as soon as you get a despatch notice then the contract is agreed? In which case they can't take more money from my debit card, and if I had bought a gift card they can't change the amount on it anyway?

I ordered some presents in dp's name yesterday so I guess that won't be honoured now as one of them was reduced :( But I hope the Elle card doesn't have money deducted if they don't honour it.
