I spent last night watching 5 episodes of superscrimpers:eek: I took lots of notes, for future reference:D It also got me motivated again:j .

I have now been out of work for just over 4 months and I can't believe how quickly that time has passed, I just haven't managed to get as much done as I thought due to other things. I have no immediate plans to go back to work unless something drastic happens, which considering our economy is a possibility, but I need to use my time more wisely. So with DS1 ill again and off school I will take the oppertunity to go through some more paperwork and send off for my provisional license.

Rising I hope you get those tickets for the Pandas.

I hope everyone else is having a great Thursday and tomorrow is FRIDAY:j:j:j

    It's here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/bad-credit-credit-cards#rebuild

How long did it take to rebuild your credit score? I must really check mine out some time. I was turned down for a loan when our boiler broke but when I opened a Jacamo account they gave me some credit, about a tenth of what the new boiler cost but I have not used it:D

I actually kept one of my cc's all the way through :o I'd applied for a new one and somehow got approved so I guess that shows a long standing account which I think can help (?)

Although it wasn't always paid in full, the min was always made and I made sure the outstanding amount never "got out of hand".

My defaults all fell off by the end of 2010 - the first credit I applied for was when I remortgaged at the end of last year and by then I'd been paying the cc in full for around a year which I guess probably helped (as there is really no other credit info on my file).

QueenB I watch Superscrimpers online while ironing... I wish I took notes because I forget half of it!!! But it did motivate me to sew my own cushion covers, and dye the material myself :)

Rising I also had a CC from very early on... started at the highest APR with no benefits and worked on my credid score until I got my MrT one which gives me benefits... I've never not paid that in full, and i've had it 6-7 years :)

Good luck today with your scan x

Eliza is now sleeping 7/8pm - 5.30am (I end up getting up at 5am with DH and waiting for her now!!!) She's due her 8 week immunisations today :( but first i'm going to baby group which she loves :D

I've been an eBay Queen, got all DS next 2 sizes on there (he normally jumps a size in a few months so I am being prepared)... and I had 20% off M&S so I ordered him pants and socks! Overall with what I got in the charity shops I got 2 sizes for £80 (he only needs 2/3 tops in the bigger size) He cost me £120 for his last size and got less!!!

Eliza is talking to me... She keeps sticking out her tounge at people and loves it when they respond! She's also found her hands... I have £10 worth of dummies in the next size... and I think she'll be sucking her thumb before she uses them!!! And I opened 2 of the 3 packs!

Hope everyone has a great day x

SOT - You'll be spending less then £5 a week this month with the amount of food you have left!

I doubt I shall do that well as I am short on fruit and veg, but I definitely plan on being under £10 a week, but even that would be brilliant for me. I'm away for a few days this week, so no main food shop this weekend, though I do need a pack up for the journey and have nothing suitable in so I do need to pop and get a sandwich or similar for then.

I've planned something I can have for tea the night I get back with no hassle, and I'm planning to stick to storecupboard food till the following weekend when I will do a food shop - but even that should still be a v small one.

Rising - hope today goes ok for you

Hugs to all that need them :)

Rising I hope everything goes goes well today for you.

JulieG as always you are very well organised. I hope to make my own cushion covers but still getting the hang of the sewing machine, can't seem to stitch a straight line:o

I have been looking at Junior ISAs I was just wondering if anyone else on this thread was considering them as an option? I have never been in a position to save for the kids, barely in a position to save for us because of the debts but now I am looking for an option to be able to do that. MIL has a small amount saved for them and because of complications with the way that account is going to be working in the future she wanted to know if i had an account for the boys so she could transfer the whole lot over. I don't but I did tell her I have been looking at the new junior ISAs. I would have to have a monthly DD set up as no way I could afford a lump sum to invest, especially when looking at an ISA for myself. So what do you guys think? Isa or regular kids saver account?

  • Thanks for all the good wishes ..... they must've worked because I DID IT!:j:j:j

It wasn't the most pleasant experience (understatement!) and I did cry the whole way through and howled when I came out :o and was a total wreak but it's done (and hopefully I'll never need another one!).....

  • Thanks :) feeling a bit of a "woose" and I know it's an irrational fear (as I guess all phobia's are) but it's just awful being closed in / in small spaces etc.

Not sure how long it takes tbh - I'm not due to see my consultant until October:eek: but not sure if they write out with the results of if they go to my GP ... will leave it a couple of weeks & then ring.

Everyone has their own phobias and living with DS1 and I 'm the last person to judge anothers fears, the main thing is you overcame. Personally I am terrified of needles and can't cope with blood tests. I feel such an idiot when I am sitting there shaking and crying especially as DS1 has had regular blood tests since he was 9 days old and will all his life (used to be every 2 weeks now if all medication is ok its 2/3 times a year). Also terrified of heights, even clinbing a ladder is too much for me:o
