Hi Rising.
Annoying as it is, does this not mean that you've put your CC £17 in credit? ie the first £17 spend on your CC for this month will be "free".
Apologies if I'm wrong - still not very awake yet!

DS1 feeling better but not 100% yet. So any plans I had for today now revolve around the house rather than out of it, which considering how cold it is may be a good thing.
Lianne I know its easier said than done but try not to worry about the baby.Being the mother of a disabled child and working in education with disabled children, including those with downs all I can say is that whatever happens try and stay positive and get as much information on the area as possible. ((((hugs))))
Have a wonderful saturday everyone.:)Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

QueenB These cushion covers were my 3rd eversewing project (first at 16 in school, 2nd 5 years ago I made wonkycurtains for DS bunk bed and then these!)
DS has an account which matures when he is 11!!! I am planning on investing it in my name (ifI can)… I considered a Junior ISA for Eliza but some current accounts forchildren seem to get better returns (I noticed this on superscrimpers, and aschildren don’t pay tax on the first £7500 they don’t pay tax if you fill out aform and give it to the bank). But I amgoing to look into those in more detail… as when they mature I will be keepinghold of the money until I think my children are ready for the money! Both my Ex and my DH got their money at 18and spent it all on rubbish! I got mineat 21 and my parents only gave it to me as I had just had DS and I spent itpaying off all my Credit I got to buy what I ‘thought’ he needed!!!
Add insult to injury, DS missed the £250 by a few months (Ithink it came out in the September after he was born) and Eliza misses it nowbecause they stopped last year!!
Rising ((hugs))
Ref DD, you can call the bank and they can reverse it…especially if it is due to come out on Monday. As you have OCD I would cancel the DD and set up a SO just when you needone (ie. You are away). In 5 years Ihave done this I have never missed a payment! I do however go online to get my statement on the day it’s produced andpay it long before the paper statement comes through!
Li That’s why I never had the down syndrome test done for Eliza,I personally won’t have the amniocentesis to confirm the condition, and would havekept her anyway… and high risk means only a certain %age have it… so you couldhave a healthy baby, but since my sister had this with her 3rd baby(she never had the test, but he had white spots on his heart when he had hisscan done and this is indicative of down syndrome – he is perfectly normal andhealthy and 1 year old today) I sympathise with you ((hugs)) xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Well DS1 was still ill yesterday so at least I got another NSD which made up for me buying a takeaway on Friday, though in our defence we where exhausted. Not many plans for today, DS1 has perked up but still quite weak so I guess we will just be pottering around the house and garden again, at least its quite a nice day. I have lots of paperwork to do anyway.
Have a fab Sunday everyone.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

So today I made a monthly meal planner and went through all freezers and cupboards. Our freezers where quite empty so they need a restock and I only have bit of batch made chilli left:(. So shopping list has been made and time to buy bulk for the month where possible. I save loads of recipes and have a lot of cook books so I have put at least one new meal on the planner each week. Need to get some baking done as we are down to our last piece of weetabix cake, I think a crumble would be nice tomorrow and I can add the crumbs of the cruncy nut cereal to the topping:)
I ordered my tickets for legoland and the Eden project using CC vouchers and still have some left, I just hope they all arrive in time:cool:
I have to pay for DS2 school trip. I still cringe everytime a school trip letter comes home as they just seem to be getting more expensive. This trip costs just over £16 whihc I suppose isn't too bad but it is about the WW2 so the school has requested all kids dress in that style and have a lunch from that era, creative but rather annoying. Yet on the other they ask all lunches are in disposable bags/plastic bags which really annoys me both because this is not ecoaware and not in keeping with the era. What I was thinking is that I couls put it in a paper bag and if they complain I will explain why.

School Trips - yikes! Here's what we have to fund between now and Summer 2013. DD1 - Edinburgh Festival, Band Trip, Iceland and Paris. DD2 - Lake District, Band Trip and Paris.
Some might say why bust a gut to do this, but I swore when I became a single parent that my children would not go without as a result. Obviously ex is contributing too, but like most mothers I will go without to ensure they can access all the opportunities open to them.
In case you think I am spoiling them, I have recently refused to enter DD1 for a weeks instrumental tuition at Easter as I sensed her heart wasn't really in it, and it was an expense too far. I should also point out that she is funding her own Paris trip from her holiday job (as we paid for her to go the first time).
Was hoping to get abroad in October, but not sure that it's going to be a viable option. It's all good stuff tho - you pays your money and you makes your choices!

BIB Some great trips there, The school I used to work at had a trip that cost around £2000, I never understood how parents could afford it even though it was an amazing oppertunity. Once DS2 starts secondary I am sure we will be getting a lot more trips and costs coming home but like you I think that costs aside sometimes you can't ignore the experience that comes with them.
Just went through paperwork and found a lot to add to my much forgotten to do list:o, must get on top of everything:)Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash
