We went to the zoo today, this was our "celebrate being DF day"!. I used the money that I had made on ebay over a number of weeks, so it was also "kinda" free!

Rising - the pandas are fab!!

I had heard that it could have been a let down as they might not have been there to see, but when we went both were lying sleeping like bit teddy bears and then one had a wee walk around the enclosure - fab!

:j:j Ohhhh sounds like a lovely day Li that I'm sure you and DH and DD (if she's old enough!) will remember for many years to come:D

DM phoned earlier & our tickets are booked so will be heading there myself a week on Friday:D They better be out when I go! ;)

I am however lucky enough to work in the same Secondary and the same hours, including holidays, so whenever they are home, I am home too.

    Lucky really.

I am guessing you mean lucky in a good way. In which case I admire your inner strength, this would be my idea of hell.:)

Took a packed lunch, treated DD to a panda toy and then had a fish supper from the chip shop for tea, all in all a fantastic (but exhausting) day, and all paid for by the ebay money!!

Here's to staying debt free everyone!!

Sounds like a good day out, and best of all it was free.
I can recall many happy trips out to zoos and farm centres with the kids when they were young.
Thinks: I may have just found a use for the grandchildren!

Re-reading my post I could see it could be read as sarcastic - (my usual default setting!) - however on this occasion I meant it - I do feel lucky.

(It could however be my childrens' very idea of hell tho'!).

    But thanks.

    Hi everyone

I'm back from my short holiday, no accommodation costs as was with parents who kindly treated me, but 600 miles travelled which has blown a hole in the petrol budget!

Lovely to have a change of scenery though. Couple more days off before back to work and having a lazy day today though really should have the washer on.

BiB - I don't think I'd have been keen on my mum in school, but it must be so convenient, don't know how you do it though, I have to agree with Mort, is my idea of hell!

Glad you hear you enjoyed your break SOT x

I am sooooooooooooooooooooo very very VERY tired!!!

Eliza had V&D which started yesterday and just got worse and worse!

Dr told me to water down her feeds (1/4 strength) and give her only 2oz a feed... because she needed fluids not food! Man is a genius (or a good Dr) because since then she has slowly been improving!

She got up to 4oz, and now is on 1/2 strength feeds. By tonight it will be 3/4 strength and I hope by morning she'll be on full stregth again :)

But because she needed fluids I was up very late to make sure she was fed little and often, then when I did sleep I got 4 hours (I can't function well on less then 5 hours in total!) but it was worth it... because left to her own devises she can sleep, and when she sleeps not even hunger seems to wake her! (she sleeps 10 hours a night now for the last 2 weeks)

And because of it all i've been washing all day and I have no room left to hang things up to dry now!

    Right, where's my bed...
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

Think they must have spotted Rising's mobile insurance cover questions as it is covered in the weekly email :-)

SOT glad you had a lovely break!:)

I've been playing with my spreadsheets again this afternoon - juggling a few things a bit to take account of the slight increase in the council tax d/debit :( - it's actually stayed the same but the water has gone up again.

    Rant warning ....
Water is one of my real "agro" areas - no option of a meter here and it's based on your CT banding ..... I pay the same for my water as the family of 2 adults & 3 teenagers a few doors down ... yet I must only use a fraction of what they do:mad: rant over :o

Also had to increase the mobile budget to cover the new phone (still wading through the 128 pages of the manual:eek:) but not too much as I should get 2 x £50 lots back this year - it's a bit of an odd set up as you get to claim £50 after 5 months' bills, then the same again and then £50 every 4 months for a couple of times, then £50 every 3 months (guess they hope you'll forget by that point ... but not us savvy MSErs!;))

So ... the clothes budget is reduced (again!) as well as the entertainment one (which incl hols as not actually got one for this!) - hey ho!
