Ooops, that is another one I got the sex wrong on...going to have to get the female voice out of my head reading your posts now :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I have no problem at all. I quite happy in the knowledge that I accept everyone for who they are, and will always look out for those who need help no matter what.
People like you are going to get whats coming to them eventually, and when it does, I hope it's long and painful[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Believe it or not, it is not easy to be awarded DLA, things have most certainly been tightened up over the last few years or so and things are set to get tougher still in the coming years.
It's probably not easy for you because you're probably a genuine claimant. You can bet there are ungenuine ones who know exactly how to play the system & get what they want out of it.
That's the problem, when you tighten up a lot of things it only hits the genuine cases because the scumbags with no morals simply find a way around it.
A simple analogy might be parking or similar fines. If a generally law-abiding person gets one they will pay it. If a criminal scumbag gets one or one hundred they simply ignore them. Eventually they MIGHT get a court order & they probably won't turn up or some administrative nonsense will allow them to get off. If they do turn up AND get found guilty they probably get let off with a fine they won't pay anyway. The process that would lead to a custodial sentence takes forever & rarely ever happens & if it finally does they spend maybe a month in nick with their mates & actually enjoy it (for those disbelieving this I know people in this exact situation - a short stint in prison is nothing for a recidivist).
So you have a situation where parking & similar fines will be increased & imposed more strictly in order to screw as much money as possible out of people who are generally law-abiding because it's so much easier than making the tiniest effort to do anything about people who are not & who know how to play the system.
And so on.0 -

Oh dont worry, I will be feathering my nest long before you socialists wake up and realise realise that unfortunately, everything isnt sugar coated. Nice sentiment though as a socialist regarding your last comment. You must have some serious issues, especially if you believe in fake concepts such as "fate".0 -

Unfortunately, playing the outrage card and denying the fact that our country is going to sink unless we grip the deficit wont wash with me. I also believe that getting rid of the deficit is going to impact all of us (I remember you posted a thread a wile back singlesue regarding what would YOU be willing to suffer to cut the deficit), its impacted me and will impact my family in the future.
Unfortunately, people have become acustomed to pandering to I really dont see how providing cash can stop a young kid with behavioural issues or a recognised disorder from running in front of traffic. I would say what parents need more of is voluntary support of trained individuals to take care of their kids and give these parents a well deserved break on a fairly regular basis. I still stand by my arguement that motability is a joke and as long it is doled out to people without physical disabilities who have a real need for transport assistance, then the arguements for further support for those with disabilities is significantly devalued.
As for disability allowances in general, yes, they are required, but why should individuals be rewarded with taxpayers cash for poor life choices? Alcoholics and drug addicts on higher payments? Its an absolute disgrace. Unfortunately, individuals who like to take a soft line on all of this dont do those with real disabilities any favours. Common sense HAS to be applied to these payments, or those who are getting nailed in taxation, pensions cuts, pay cuts, allowances cuts are going to get fed up pretty quickly.
As for myself, my partner and I have already made decisions about what we plan to do if there are diagnosed serious disabilities during pregnancy, something I feel that everyone should have a long bl00dy think about these days before embarking on taking that step. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a society that has gone down the path of completely abrogating an individuals responsibility to the nation, and expects a one way street in return for nothing. This also manifests itself increasingly in not only poor lifestile choices, but, as I alluded to before, in some cases offering a cop out for a bad child in the form of a "Disorder" or "Syndrome".

Um go back to the 60-70's and Autism was due to bad parenting and many children were simply stuck in institutions as that was only place where it was believed they belonged. Maybe thats where all your badly behaved kids with made up disorders should be costing the tax payer even more money?
I suspect you are on a wind up or are simply ignorant. The reason why parents get the mobility award isn't to teach their children how to deal with danger its a financial award to help with the extra cost of getting them around as the few kids who get it for ASD/ADHD are unable to walk any real distance or maybe super sensitive to noise etc ASD/ADHD is a large specturm from the mild to the very severe. Your suggestion that parents with kids like this should not take them out and therefore their children should not have any quality of life is comical if it was not so sad.
As for you know what you would do it you found out your child was serious disabled in pregnancy well I'll let you into a secret. Many condition cannot be diagnosed during pregnancy and also many physical disabilities at birth are due to NHS blunders during Labour. Maybe you and your partner maybe better off without kids as my wife comes across people like you in her job everyday ie the middle class/want to be middle parent who resents their child for being disabled.0 -
And many conditions can. As for being resentful of their child, you say that as if the parents are the evil ones.0
