You truly are a despicable piece of **** I have come across some pig ignorant, rude, lacking in compassion posters in my time here but this is just disgusting talking about an MSE'ers child like this.
You should be ashamed.
But probably won't be.
This place is getting worse
I composed a very long reply to the post you quoted and then decided....why bother, he has his view and as far as he is concerned, he is right and no matter what facts and figures he is given, he will continue with that rather outdated and ignorant view.
In short he (I am assuming here that OptionARMAGEDDON is a male) is not worth it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Look, there was nothing hateful about my post. I have done voluntary work before with disabled kids and have seen the hideous stress it can place on parents. Unfortunately, playing the outrage card and denying the fact that our country is going to sink unless we grip the deficit wont wash with me. I also believe that getting rid of the deficit is going to impact all of us (I remember you posted a thread a wile back singlesue regarding what would YOU be willing to suffer to cut the deficit), its impacted me and will impact my family in the future.
Unfortunately, people have become acustomed to pandering to I really dont see how providing cash can stop a young kid with behavioural issues or a recognised disorder from running in front of traffic. I would say what parents need more of is voluntary support of trained individuals to take care of their kids and give these parents a well deserved break on a fairly regular basis. I still stand by my arguement that motability is a joke and as long it is doled out to people without physical disabilities who have a real need for transport assistance, then the arguements for further support for those with disabilities is significantly devalued.
As for disability allowances in general, yes, they are required, but why should individuals be rewarded with taxpayers cash for poor life choices? Alcoholics and drug addicts on higher payments? Its an absolute disgrace. Unfortunately, individuals who like to take a soft line on all of this dont do those with real disabilities any favours. Common sense HAS to be applied to these payments, or those who are getting nailed in taxation, pensions cuts, pay cuts, allowances cuts are going to get fed up pretty quickly.
As for myself, my partner and I have already made decisions about what we plan to do if there are diagnosed serious disabilities during pregnancy, something I feel that everyone should have a long bl00dy think about these days before embarking on taking that step. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a society that has gone down the path of completely abrogating an individuals responsibility to the nation, and expects a one way street in return for nothing. This also manifests itself increasingly in not only poor lifestile choices, but, as I alluded to before, in some cases offering a cop out for a bad child in the form of a "Disorder" or "Syndrome".

As far as I can see, it is those on the disability benefits bearing the majority of the burden for Condoms deficit reduction plans. Everyone else seems to have been mostly unaffected.OptionARMAGEDDON wrote: »Look, there was nothing hateful about my post. Drivel. I suggest you look what has happened to the military budget then. Or perhaps to the police budget. Or even local government budgets. Or even investment spending on research and development for industry and universities budgets.
Stop making up feeble counter arguements. Perhaps if some of the underclass learned how to use condoms then we wouldnt have such a monsterous DWP budget overspend. Its not the conservatives fault there are so many proles on the disabilities scam.0 -

Never thought I'd see the day when somebody was actually jealous of the disabled.

I personnaly support a complete cap at times like these. The workers who pay for the benefits of the scroungers are suffering pay freezes while they get to sit at hoime living in inflation proofed luxary-its just plain wrong.0

So the disabled are scroungers now.
What about those who do work and claim DLA. Are they scroungers too.
This country has gone to the dogs.
I never thought I'd witness a time when those to ill, or without the ability to defend themselves due to disability, were cast aside by the rest of society.
I can honestly say I am ashamed to call myself British if this is what our society has turned into. The able bodied declaring war on the ill, the disabled, and the dying.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

You madam, are a communist. I was simply countering your (rather weak) arguement that the only government cuts that were taking place were targetting disability payments.
If disability allowance is not being scammed, please answer me one question. Why is there such a significant variation between affluent constituencies and the less affluent when comparing relative percentage claimant rates for DA? we are not talking about small variations here. Some areas have as much as a 30-50% variation. The ONLY explaination can be that significant numbers of able bodied people are on the scam, which is exactly why all people currently in reciept of DA are going for re-assessment. Also why lots of people are learning, surprise surprise, that they are fit enough to work.
Playing the outrage card and invoking those working with disabilities is pretty below the belt. I dare say a fair few genuinely disabled individuals are also might peed off at the thought that their 40% tax rate was going to the large number of people claiming DA's who quite frankly should be in jail for fraud.0 -

You mean the luxury a 20-year-old sitting in his room experiences on his £53 a week.0
