Lula, I'm sorry you went that far down - and very, very glad you've come back to post.
I really recognise that feeling of wanting to drive away and start again - when I worked in London, I was near Paddington Station at one stage, and when things got really bad, I'd walk there at lunchtime and stare at the departure boards. Managed not to get on a train, but it was a near thing sometimes.
I also recognise it, and still get it very occasionally... but managed to mostly cure mine by trying it. I once left the country in a very rushed decision when I just couldn't think what else to do. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I had a fantastic time there... after about six months of sorting through all the head-stuff that somehow managed to accompany me anyway, and doing it mostly on my own because I'd left my entire support network on another continent  .
If you want to move, or make any other big changes, it will be doable... but it will be easier if you do it gently and remember to take the good stuff with you in the process. Like us
(However, I'm sure we can help you come up with suitable plans for your last day ever in the presence of Goblin.

Can I just say that having a man is no guarantee of getting the perfect present. Lovely as my husband is, he hasn't grasped that presents from shops with turquoise packaging tied with white ribbon
are much better than ones from electrical stores.
I have a sinking feeling that he has bought me a sat nav this year.
Best stick to buying your own perfume Lula, less disappointment that way.0 -
lol lizzie, why do they always go for the electricals?? i think im learning now to take a day off with him and go shopping on my birthday or after xmas to get the items i would actually like hehe0

Good morning all :hello:,
with work-job a now distant memory & just 3 days of home-job to get through - meaning I have 3 free days before crimbo to make the home clean & tidy then another 8 days after it to laze around & get podgy/er
I'm feeling the tension ebb away with each hour that passes.
First of all I have to name check you all, I've been overwhelmed at just how many lovely people have posted - far more internet friends than I have in real life :undecided
ZTD - always reliable for lightening the situation :T
Taxi - always full of kind words & sensible thoughts :A
Buffy - battling your own family demons & I know you empathise on many counts, thank you for your support :T
Purplemumof2 - thank you & great to see you back on the DFW train :j
Karma - kind of reassuring to know that someone as balanced as yourself has also experienced & fought the urge to flee :A
Shoesy - Our lives have many similarities & thank you for not having lost 3 stone & run off with someone gorgeous, yet. When you do make sure he has a brother please
polesalot - I will never forget that baking sheet , first sign of any form of appliance or utensil & I'll back away, thank you for sharing :rotfl:
Wobblydeb - I love your idea, & you have no idea how tempted I am
Rosa - again I appreciate the empathy & thank you for the offer & truffles :A
Kittkins - welcome aboard & I feel a posh cheese on toast event coming up very soon :T
Freshair - welcome aboard also, & thank you for the sensible words , reminded me that at least I no longer have the Xs appalling family to contend with, & dodgy hugs gratefully received - me, Johnny & Brandon I presume :rotfl:
Lizzie - I would not be at all impressed with a satnav, *makes mental note to be a bit diva-ish when eventually non-single*, no lovely gig tickets for you ??
Fedupandskint - I agree on all counts & I think a part of my anguish was at not having prepared for gifts & knowing that I would end up having to buy stuff. Fear not, Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 is imminent
Cherryjack - how ungrateful are you
, not only does your son choose such a thoughtful gift, but clearly also has the skills required to go shopping by himself to get this, & the money to pay for it. Shame on you :rotfl:
Amishwannabe - hello & welcome, thank you for putting everything in perspective with your encounter with a Big Issue seller :A . DD & I have been watching the series about Life with the Amish & the community values we've seen have been very thought provoking in our home. I love the way that everyone signed a peg that held the barn together
.***
I have much news but need to go empty the washing marvel now so will be back in a bit, thank you again to all.

:wave::wave:Waiting to see the news ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
Hey Karma :wave::wave:
Firstly, it's a brightish day here at the moment, which is always good for lifting the spirits & they do need a bit of boost today.
Yesterday we visited my lovely auntie & she's been doing a bit of house clearing so we came away with full tummies & various useful items. We now have a paper shredder, so I can compost all paperwork rather than bonfiring it. We also have a fan which is great as I never got around to buying one in the last heatwave ( no, not the 1976 one :rotfl:) & probably never will. A full set of proper grown up cutlery including soup & dessert spoons, dessert knives & forks, coffee spoons etc, the sweetest little coffee cups & a set of tumblers.
I did turn down the kind offer of a kettle on the grounds that we have one which works fine ... we came home & typically, it now doesn't so I've been boiling water the old style way on the cooker
. It's a no-make up, trackie pants day here for me & DD is nursing her annual christmas cold so she's in full pyjama mode.
I've gathered up enough items for another trip to the charity shop & have finally crammed all food times into cupboard space. One more grocery shopping trip required to get fruit, veg, milk & cheese, bread etc & then I'm done.
Tomorrow I need to go & by a kettle from somewhere & although I'm favouring purple DD is not allowing that, not the extortionately priced set on amazon.
I've done the sums, & by raiding & draining the buffer fund account ( yes, the one I was meant to be repaying
) I can clear the CCCCC by the end of the year :j..
Not ideal as it means that essentially I've spent way over what I have available, but hey, that's why I'm still here; to learn how to live within a budget, rather than keeping on spending what I don't have & then thinking I'm clever by demonstrating my ability to pay it all back again.
I could be here for years then :rotfl:.0
