    Hi Sweetie

I totally understand how you feel, I'm not a Christmas fan either! You were so kind to me when I was feeling down, you know where I am when you're ready :A

Sorry to hear it's ll been left to you Lula. Have a dodgy hug :grouphug:

I think most people feel the same. I think it's the 2 month build-up that p*sses everyone off. The actual 3 days of xmas I quite enjoy when they arrive. I then look forward to new year, new start etc.

    Deep breaths....

  • Hi Lula,
Christmas isn't all about the spending bit its more about families having a row!!!:rotfl:well from experience with 2 previous ex's families this seems to be true, fortunately my family (not that there is much of it left) is ok but we tend not to go OTT, and dinner is just a normal roast with crackers.

After all as my mum said its 1 day out of the year, with a lot of hype to go with it.

You have helped me, even though you probably don't realise it but you have.

So have another dodgy hug :grouphug::grouphug:and remember that its not all about showing how succesful you are but knowing that you are comforatable with your world. (which we all know you are)x

DD and I sometimes do that - she's 6 and sometimes we 'dress for dinner' and she writes out a menu, we use wine glasses for our juice and milk and have a very jolly time :) It elevates cheese on toast to a much higher status!

I wonderd where you had gone as it'd been so very quiet.

As for this time of year, I understand exactly how you feel. Christmas Day sounds very hard work for you and coping with all sorts of moods and emotions. I Hope you get through it alright and then the next day you wake up bright and breezy as its all over and done with for another year.

We don't all have perfect families as depicted on TV and adverts sitting in a big house with hundreds of presents. What we have is real life, our life and we make it the best we can for ourselves. I'm doing quite a few HM presents this year and have branched out into some bath products. Am I bothered if they don't go down well? Not really. I'm doing them because I think they'll like them, if not I will! Plus when you don't really need anything whats the point of buying tat from the shop for the sake of it? At least these will get used and they are super natural and cheap. I'm mega skint at the moment and very glad I bought most things earlier this year. I'll be parceling them up next week to make them look beautiful and then lets see how they go down!

A big hug for you coping with the stresses and strains of 'this wonderful time of year' - its only films and media that tells us that!

Take care my dear and hopefully your sharp wit will feel like putting an appearance is again soon as its much missed. What will I do without the crazy clothes 2012? I can't even think about that!

    Hey beautiful people,

thank you all so much for the lovely messages :iloveyou:. I've lurked a bit, contemplated just fading away but you all mean too much to me to do that so here I am.

I was totally unprepared for just how low I went earlier this week; and for a while I really felt like I couldn't find my way back from the edge of the downward spiral. I actually considered making an appointment to see the doctor to get some meds as I sat at work biting back the tears on Wednesday & just felt so completely alone & dissasociated from the world :(

The urge to get in my car & just drive off away from my life & start again alone somewhere new was almost overwhelming. The depths of my own despair scared me, but I had a couple of glasses of wine when I got home, which didn't help me sleep any & is not usually recommended before 6pm, but it did seem to adjust / reset my mood somewhow & I think I'm over the worst now & heading back towards a more evenly balanced life :)

I'm not sure if it's the general time of year or the family situation that brought this lapse on; but I'm very relieved to have recognised how bleak I felt & also that I might well need professional help to overcome it. A lot of the stress, commtiments & drama that was exacerbating my mood has now dissipated or been dealt with in real practical ways & after tomorrow I have a couple of days free to just gather my thoughts & breathe.

The Custard Coloured Credit Card has not escaped this episode unscathed & is fast approaching a four figure balance. I'll be honest & admit that not all the spending has been entirely planned or the result of conscious decision making & it may be that the mood & spending are related.

Tomorrow I'll take stock, do the sums & assess the damage ... then report back here.

Until then, please know that every little post really does mean so much, so thank you, again :A

    G'night
    xx
