I know that people say Thank you to each other for getting an answer to a useful post or learning something new from a post that they could than use themselves, and I think that is very nice, but why on the Daily Thread when people chat about their plans, what they have been upto, & banter a little does THAT warrant 23 plus "Thank you for this useful post"
I am a newbie so please could you explain this?0 -

How strange! There are quite a number of us who get yeast from in-store bakeries.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Does anyone know if it's possible to freeze pasta sauce - and I'm talking about the stuff that comes in jars and contains no meat?

Thanks
I mix it with mince, onions etc and then freeze it and its always okay. therefore I can't see any problem with freezing the sauce on its ownWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

We got 'told off' a while back for mentioning everyone in every post, so people have taken to 'thanking' each message as a way of saying 'i have read your post, and thank you for contributing'.0 -
catowen wrote:Has anyone ever deep fried vegetables (im thinking carrots, butternut squash and sweet potato) like chips? Ive roasted them before, but never deep fried, and wondered how they would turn out!!!???
Parsnip chips are a favourite with me. Cook them like chips...no, I've never had them or seen them or reference to them anywhere else either, so I'm giving you my own personal recipe...cut them up in chip sized bits, fry them till golden, eat with fried eggs and tomato sauce. Lovely!0 -

But surely if you post on to the daily thread it is a given that you have read what has gone before?
Isn't the PM facility for those who want to get in touch if they feel the need?
I would think that this wasn't the original intention of the "Thanks" button and from a new members point of view it looks like a pre-aranged thing to see who can reach the highest number?
I can't undertstand why you were "told off" for mentioning each other if it was just in the daily thread because this is obviously just a "daily chat" facility and could be avoided by those who choose to just read the questions/tips posts.
It's seems strange that not many gave their "take on this" and I thank you for yours.............................Have I pointed out the Elephant in the room:D0 -

I am assuming not many have given their take on this because it's supposed to be a quick Q and A and I think Catowen has put it quite succinctly. I personally don't thank every post and don't think anyone has ever taken offence so it is not a prerequisite to thank everyone before posting just some people's personal preference to do so.
