I have never frozen mushrooms, what happens when you defrost them? Or maybe blitz them in a food processor and add to spag bol etc????Sealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151

HELP ! I am so stupid sometimes ... I got a big batch of mushrooms, and threw them in the freezer whole. Now I have a load of small rocks and when I added one to my stew it came out like a giant rubber. What can I do with whole frozen mushrooms ??
Defrost, chop small and add to casseroles or pasta sauce

mushroom soup? never made it myself ..
when I feeze mushrooms I slice them up or chop in half first and then just give a quick turn in a pan with some sunflower oil(just for about a minute or so) it helps take that yukky fungus taste off them. Then freeze spread out flat on a tray before boxing up.They never come out like fresh ones but they're fine for spag bol curry, casseroles, soups or whatever and at least they're not in a solid lump0 -
Hi all, i've been asked to make a bread pudding for a friend today but i have no suet. Would it be possible to use anything else - i have lard and hard margerine - as a substitute? Haven't made it before and would like to make a reasonable effort!
Thanks in advance x0 -

Can someone please give me a link for a recipe for chicken soup.. I'm so sorry to be a pain but I have tried an advanced search but it keeps bringing me a list of threads that mention it, but no actual recipe.
I did find a post that suggested some look in the index??? but I couldn't find that either...
I've got a carcuss to slow cook but my slow cooker is a bit small for my very large chicken, can I break up the bones ( i know it might sound silly but I really don't know) and finally do I have to boil it tonight because my kids cleared all the veg and I need to get some more if I'm going to put them in the cooker with the carcass.
So many questions... but thank you in advance

Hi any thoughts on what to do with a couple of chocolate muffins that have dried out too much to eat just as they are?

You could sprinkle with a little bit of water, the blast 10 secs in micro to freshen them up. Then have with hot custard. Or, could you use them as the base in the blackforest trifle recipe that is to be found on this forum.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
