I've spent the last hour trying to find a link on how to clean out smelly/moldy fridge freezers. I've gone through the large index as well but no luck. I'm sure it's starring me right in the face and I just can't see it...
Can anyone here help me with a link or just advice me.
I've tried kitchen spray with bleach and plain soapy water but it still smells0 -
I am sure it will involve vinegar, when it comes - white vinegar not the brown stuff!
If you've got the mould off but it still smells, put a bowl of vinegar in it for a while. Don't worry, the smell of fish and chips won't linger indefinitely!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Thanks, I got some vinegar at home so I'll give that a go.
My fridge/freezer packed it in last week and I managed to get these ones through freecycle. They just need a good thorough clean before I can switch them on.0 -
You could try leaving a little dish of bicarb in the fridge too. We had an old freezer & had to store it for a while, so left a couple of saucers of bicarb in it to help ward off the nasty niffs.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Any idiot-proof recipes for popcorn coatings please?
I don't mind it as it is, but the offspring prefer the flavoured ones.

Hi BigMammaF,
This thread has lots of ideas for flavouring and a link on the first page that should help:

I have got a recipe that needs roasted hazlenuts. Does this mean I buy normal ones in the baking section and roast them in the oven or can you buy them actually roasted?0
-
I dare say that you can buy them ready roasted, but I'd go for your first option. I think you can just dry roast them in a frying pan, but I'm sure someone else will verify that.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

I thought I might put them on a tray in the oven but not sure how long I would roast them for?0
-
I think if you're going to do them in an oven, you could pop them in the bottom when you're cooking something else and just give the 15-20 mins or so until the skins crack. Or else just put them in a dry fry pan on low heat until the skins crack.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
