    Hi Sandy,

Well, the panic is over because the chap we live with took pity on me, decided to go and buy pizza rather than cooking cheese on toast for HIS tea, and came back with eggs. So although I had slopped some extra milk in, I'm sure that will be fine because the bread was VERY dry! He's quite partial to my bread pudding, so I guess that helped! And his thought corresponded to mine, that it wouldn't hold together very well but would fall apart when cut (and eaten!)
So, the normal recipe but a bit more milk, the end result is only distinguishable because I didn't hear the timer go off (busy browsing MSE for holiday tips!) and the non-stick liner I put on top (because it often browns quicklyl) fell off. Complainers might say it was burned, but honestly it's just the dried fruit poking up through the top which is a bit black and crispy.

    Just blame MSE :rotfl:

Probably asked before but can I use strong bread flour instead of normal plain flour?

I`ve got loads of bread flour what needs using up,but no plain flour.

Hi, there! I'm making this recipe. I couldn't get fresh spinach, so I'm using frozen. How much frozen is equivalent to 100g fresh

Yes you should be able to. I normally freeze my chocolate, it stops me eating it all in one go.:o

Anyone know if I can freeze clotted cream. I bought a tub from Tescos but have only used about half, do you think I can freeze the other half. Would it be ok once defrosted?

I'm sure you can freeze clotted cream, you might need to stir it well once defrosted, or the other thing I think people who don't find life too short to stuff mushrooms might do is 'pipe' it into whirls, freeze on an open sheet, bag up and then they're ready to lift off and put onto things for decoration.

No idea, but spinach is one of those things which wilts down to nothing anyway, so I don't suppose it will matter a great deal if you guesstimate, ie weigh 100g frozen and see what you think it looks like!

Frozen does give off a lot of water though - will that matter in that recipe? Or will you need to defrost and drain it first?
