I had something similar with rubber seal on washing machine. I made a strong solution of Vanish and used that letting soak into the rubber for quite a while0 -
Hi clever people
I want to use up some butternut squash in a veg curry tonight. Last time I did that it was a soggy mushy mess, the time before it was tough and disgusting. I parboiled it then put it in the curry sauce but got the timing wrong each time. Any ideas how to get it just right?

wrt the mould on the fridge seals, as long as you have given it a good scrub with bleach / milton, I really would NOT worry about it. To me it's just discolouration rather than 'real' mould. yes, it's unsightly but I think 'live' mould will only grow again if the conditions for it are right, and now the fridge is in your kitchen rather than in storage it should be fine.
My main concern would be getting rid of any musty smells inside the fridge - I don't think they'd do any harm, but it's not nice opening the fridge and getting a whiff of who knows what! Presumably you've been able to get any mould stains off the inside? It's far easier to get them off hard surfaces IME than soft ones like rubber seals! The rubber's slightly porous, which is why sandy2 got good results by letting a solution of Vanish soak into it.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I have got some vaccum packed easy baked yeast, date on the packs 19/01/08, do you think that it will still be ok to use?
It is the Allinson Easy Bake and I have 3 packs, all still sealed

I've just made twinks hobnobs and wanted to put chocolate on them as I have seen other people doing.
I have bough asda smart price chocolate 2 bars but want to only use one. anyway should I just melt the chocolate on to the biscuits or could I mix it with icing sugar to thicken the chocolate, which would be best or do you think.
