Is it at all possible that they came out of the washing machine like that without being noticed? Sometimes soap residue can look like that. Often caused by too much soap powder for the size of washload or sometimes needing an extra rinse.

Or what about your wardrobe - could there be some damp in there?

    Hi all,

Quick question re: carpet freshner... I buy shake & vac for around £0.80p and I know I could make my own from baking soda & aromatherapy oil, but since baking soda is around £0.50p for a tiny pot, seems like shake & vac is the cheapest option re quantity? Any other brands you'd suggest?

Thanks for that suggestion Olliebeak. A friend had suggested the same thing (extra rinse).

The wardrobe isn't damp but it does whiff a bit with all the clothes in there. I just put it down to the fact that it's an Argos cheapie as my other wardrobes never smelt like that, even the plastic one that I currently use.

I might try hanging a sock filled with bicarb and see if that works.

Good Luck with that - it very often works.

Does anyone know what to use on "oil finished" furniture? (As opposed to a varnished finish.) At the moment it's just getting dusted, but I wondered if I should be using a product?

Yes. But not in the old-fashioned glass bottles with foil lids. :rotfl:

Hi there, i was just wondering if i could freeze green chiles and if so do I need to do anything to them. Also I have never used them before so can you use them the exact same way as red chilies?? Why dont the sell red chillies on their own. It would be much easier

I use greenthe same as red. To freeze I just chop them up finely as if I were to add them to something straight away and put them in those minute tupperware tubs you get which aren't any use for anything else!

WEAR GLOVES!!!!! I was in agony for days when I got the chilli oil all over my hands and under my nails - goddam it burns!! (Soaking your hands in sunflower oil for a few hours works though! ;) )
