Can someone tell me if garlic butter (I want to make my own garlic bread) is just butter and crushed garlic?

    Thanks

It is when I do it! Watch the amount of garlic unless your a big fan, it can come out stronger than you think!

    Chocolate pot update...

I made it with wine, and it worked fine except no-one likes it! I have given it to everyone I know (and some people I don't!) and general concensus is that its either the wine taste or the very strong dark chocolate taste that people don't like. It has a really nice texture, so I am tempted to try it in the future with either apple juice (?) or milk (ditto ?) instead of wine and with less dark chocolate (plain instead of 85%). However I don't think I'll have time, since I think I might be starting to go into labour (yey!) so its probably not the best time to start cooking chocolate mousse!!!!

    Ta, Gemma.

Yes I am a big fan - I can kill people at 200 yards with my garlic dishes! Thank you :)
  • Has anyone tried the Venison with chocolate sauce recipe from Gordon Ramsays cookbook, I am thinking of doing it for christmas dinner as there will be just two of us?

How can there EVER be a time which isn't the best to start cooking chocolate mousse!!!!

Thanks for the update. I wasn't sure about the Rosemary in it, personally.

And best of luck with the labour - we'll STILL be watching this space! :rotfl:

I would either use them as stock for soup or casseroles. Yes just stir and freeze! They'll probably separate again, don't worry about it.

thanks everyone for the marrow info - I oven roasted some of it with butternut squash and potatoes and it came out great, half or a third of the rest I am going to put in todays slo cooker casserole and the other half or two thirds will be stuffed with last weeks left over chili and cooked in the oven tomorrow or wed.

If you roast the garlic first and sprinkle some dried herbs on top (basil, oregano, parsley) it will be extra special.
