We've moved into a rented house that already had a washing machine - however, it has mildew on the rubber seal in the doorway. I have the usual bicarb, vinegar etc - what can I use? I haven't done anything to it yet, so it may just wipe away! :rolleyes:0

Can someone who understands about frozen food tell me if I can cook mince from frozen - forgot to get it out of freezer last night!
Also around the edges of the mince some of it has frost bite as it wasn't well covered - is this harmful???
Thanks in advance for any replies.Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...0 -
I have used mince with 'frostbite' and its been fine - and I often cook from frozen - I microwave for a bit on defrost first, but before I had a microwave I would fry from frozen breaking it up as I went along - just be sure its properly cooked
My Mum used to cook mince from frozen loads when we were kids.0 -
frostbite not hrmful, just means that taste/texture may be affected. Mince is fine to cook from frozen, as Frugal says, just be sure to break it up as and when you can so that no bits remain frozen.0

Hi re - frozen sausages.
I buy frozen sausages in bags of 30. The advantage being that they are not stuck together. If you freeze your own seperate them first and rebag using those rolls of 500 food bags. I make 2 bags of 4 each.
The quick meal system is to prepare your potatos and put them on to boil. At the same time put 4 sausages frozen into a large frying pan on the largest gas ring turned down low. Add a little fat or oil to aid heat transfer.
Your potatos will take 25 minutes, in that time turn the sausages 2 or 3 times. Each time make sure the brown bit moves from the bottom to the top.
Five minutes before the potatos are done throw in the pan a couple of handfulls of frozen veg and turn up the gas.
When the potatos are done, turn up the gas a bit on the sausages while you drain the pots & veg. Add a a lump of butter to the pots, put on the lid a give the saucepan a good shaking. Stir and serve. Add the sausages and loads of ketchup.
If you put whole medium sized button mushrooms with the sausages, they will shrink over the 20 odd minutes. Add sliced onions half way through, as slow cooking makes them sweeter. Use a large pan as you don't want water to collect and cool thins down.
