In the past I've asked for a handful of the wooden coffee stirrers from Costa or Starbucks and used 2 at a time to give it a bit more strength.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Hi,
Can anyone help. I know i can cook and freeze dried green split peas (soaked first and then boiled to within an inch of their lives) but can i cook and freeze the yellow ones, and what about haricot beans and red kidney beans (all dried)? ie if i cook em can i freeze em to use em later?
Thanks.

Yes, you can cook all pulses to freeze. I do this all the time. I soak a whole bag of beans overnight, boil them up in the morning, cool and freeze in plastic bags. You can add them straight to stews/soups/curries from the freezer.
Tesco are now selling bags of cooked frozen beans for a couple of quid a bag:eek:0 -
Thanks thriftlady. I will be doing exactly that. I did the green split peas, that i knew freeze ok, last night and they are portioned up in the freezer. I may do a bag a day till they are all ready to use.....0

Any ideas on what to do with a pot of extra thick double cream that needs using up? I only needed a small amount for the quiche I made last week, and I'd like to do something that I can preferably freeze in individual portions so I don't eat it all in one go! I don't have an icecream maker, but I could always have a go at making it the old-fashioned way.2015 comp wins - £370.25
