Mobiles.co.uk Cashback query
                    Hi All
I have a cashback deal with mobiles.co.uk and have just gone online to get the bill for this month, the 1st claim, to find that last months was not paid. Not sure why but the contract is in my name and the phone is my Wifes, she said that T-Mobile have been calling her and she has made payments then. I did fill in and set up the Direct Debit forms when i initially opened the account but do not know why they have not taken it.
On mobiles website ( http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/cashback.html ) it says:
Cashback will not be paid if
Now it does not say when the monthly bills need to be paid so i was going to pay the bill and the proof of payment along with the relevant bills to them.
My questions are:
- Has anyone had their cashback refused on the basis above
- Has anyone done what i am contemplating and what was the result
- Is there a better or different way of doing it?
Many thanks in advance,
Best regards
PJB

The mobile bill you need to send must not show any outstanding balance from previous billes.
The mobiles.co.uk will not pay cashback if outstanding balance is shown on the invoice you need to send. If you have missed the payment for the inovice you need to send than it is not a problem as the amount will not show until the following month and you can pay for it now. You would not need to send that inovice anyway
Normaly you need to send the 6th bill, as long as the 5th bill is fully paid you are OK. The 6th bill will only show outstanding balance that you need to pay for that month.
If 5th bill is not paid (inovice a month before) than you will loss your cahback as per T&C.
If you need to send invoice other than 6th, the process is the same.
 I hope this help.0

Thanks thegoodman, but I am not sure you are correct as the (relevant) T&Cs are as quoted above, specifically:
If any of your monthly bills are not paid in full.
It does not say when and as i said i will send proof that the payment has been paid in full before I have applied for my cashback.
It maybe a bit sneaky and a loophole if you like, but i won't lose any sleep as I know how these firms work and they will make any excuse not to pay, whether it be sneaky, a loophole or even bordering on the fraudulent (allegedly!)0

You have nothing to lose.- Pay the bill.
- Wait for the next bill that will show that everything was paid.
- Submit two bills with an accompanying letter.

 Mobiles.co.uk - a great success story.0

When you submit your bill, any outstanding amounts or unpaid figures will be there to be seen.
How is your wife managing to pay for a contract which is in your name?
And why not pay by direct debit - when you got the contract there must have been a direct debit set up by T-mobile which presumably you canceled?0

It sounds like the bill you need to use to make the claim shows an unpaid amount. Since the previous bills must have been paid (presumably by direct debit) what you did at the start has no bearing. If this is a mistake by you in any way making the claim will provide the opportunity for Mobiles.co to void ALL your claims - not just the first. You have to establish WHY the bill went unpaid and then weigh up whether to risk the first claim and rely on mobiles.co's generosity or forgo making the claim and still be able to claim the rest - where Mobiles are most unlikely to be aware of any missed payments.0

Interesting thought. I have to admit that what I advised above needs rethinking.mobilejunkie wrote: »...will provide the opportunity for Mobiles.co to void ALL your claims - not just the first....0

With cashback deals you have to look at the detail as well as the big picture. Unless the OP has at least a case for the missed payment not being his fault I think he would be extremely wise not to attempt to make the first claim. Should he be able to show that it was not his fault at all it will then depened on that classic line... "Do you fell lucky"?0

            Thanks guys and gals
grumbler - I may submit, but need to think about given junkies post. I will update either way.
oneaday - Wife can pay as gave her permission to deal with the account, i did set up the DD - see OP and please do not presume i cancelled. (Edit: Just re-read my post, didn't mean that to sound like having a go, sorry)
junkie - I thought they were no longer allowed to cancel all cashback claims if one is not within T&Cs, i suspect I am wtong though as it was you that put it!
I have just noticed that on their How To Claim Cashback page (18-24 month with value over £100) which i printed in July it states at the top that they nedd 'bills off you in months 6, 9........' and currently states 'Claim in 5 stages in months 6, 9....'. Both of these clearly state 'in months 6' not after!
Now my contract started at the end of April so perhaps I could send in my Sept bill, which shows no arrears, Sept being the 6th month. Any thoughts?0

            No thoughts, just clear facts.
 1) It will be the OCTOBER bill.
 2) They no longer can void all claims if you MISS one. However, read the t&c you actually reproduced above. I am telling you that if you miss claim 1 you should get the rest paid unless you stuff up again. What I have stated is consistent with both your point AND the actual t&c you must adhere to.
I'm back up to 9 such contracts and look after as many again for other people and things like this shouldn't happen provided you do things properly at each and every stage - starting from day one. In your case, IF your bank has stuffed up the direct debit and Mobiles.co refuse to pay this or all claims I would make a formal complaint to your bank demanding they recompense you accordingly. I have pursued my bank many times all the way to the FOS where necessary (and several other banks too) because any way things turn out I like to have a way of ensuring I get my money. I would say though that I've always extracted my money from the dealers without recourse to third parties (apart from the Courts on rare occasions).0

100% it's October bill, pay all amounts and your oct bill will be clear.
Don't risk with others ways to get the cash back. Companies look for the way out, you may or may not get the cash back but will get a hard time from them.0
