so I was looking for a new set when my nan came round anyway I told her and she was like we have a set you can use they used them on their christmas tree for years but now they got one of them LED trees you know the ones that light up themselves so have no need for the fairy lights :T :j0 -
OH thinks his scar has burst as he was bleeding- not really sure how this is possible/happened. He called nhs direct but won't go to hospital because he doesn't want the fuss of an ambulance and doesn't think it's even worth going to the walk-in for tonight
To top it off he's at his old house alone and won't come over here in case he gets blood everywhere? He is insisting he's fine and says not to go over but 1) i know what he's like and 2) it's hard not to worry! I'm watching antiques roadshow in birmingham and trying not to get too worked up about it

So late I could almost start tomorrow's thread, and hours past my usual bedtime.
So, the roast chicken didn't get cooked again tonight. My hubby has lymphoedema and 18 months ago was hospitalised with a serious infection (out of it, temperature over 40, antibiotics via IV for five days). This morning, he got infection symptoms again. Couldn't get a GP appointment until 2pm and that was only with the nurse. Nurse said it was out of her league and we waited an hour for a GP. GP said prescription antibiotics wouldn't be strong enough and sent us straight into an emergency unit for IV ones (bypassing A&E) at the hospital. Got there at 4pm.
Finally seen by a senior doctor at 10pm!!! I was so, so annoyed. My wonderful hubby was getting sicker and sicker before my eyes - he needs antibiotics FAST when he gets one of these infections. By the time the senior doctor got round he wasn't looking so good and as if by magic an IV appeared within about 10 minutes.
Came home to let him sleep as they've finally started treating him and doing regular observations. Can't believe how long it took under the circumstances.I refused to leave till someone was getting some drugs into him.
In a bit of shock I think and exhausted. Last time he was in hospital it was 4 weeks before our wedding and the first time it had happened. I was scared witless. Now he's being treated he should be fine. He's being moved up to a proper ward shortly, thank god. The emergency unit was full of people in a very bad way. One man nearby was in the advanced stages of cancer and had been admitted. Very upset relatives and no privacy with those rubbish thin curtains between the beds.
We're a right pair - only in our 30s but he has these infection issues and I have arthritis. My foot's stiffened up from sitting around at the hospital so long so that's going to be sore tomorrow.
And, as I said, the roast chicken that was defrosted yesterday, postponed and meant to be cooked tonight, is still in the fridge. Can I cook and eat that tomorrow without sending myself to hospital?! Not sure how long defrosted chicken is good for before it needs to be cooked.... (bringing this back to OS stuff!)
Should be in work tomorrow (I work Wed-Fri) but I'm not going to go. Back at the office Thursday assuming hubby's responding to treatment. I have a long commute to work and I'm not leaving him and going all that way till he's on the mend.
Sorry for the long post. Think I needed to get all that off my chest.0 -
Pinkteapot.....hugs to you both, trust that OH will make swift progress now that he is being treated. Go to bed and sleep.
