OS Daily Tues 1st Nov
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tues 1st Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Right own up who's stole 2011......November already whats that all about . White Rabbits ;)

    Good Morning Bargain Bird x

Bless you for remembering Diva :A

I got a little more sleep after Poppy settled. I think the Trick or Treater's and yet more fireworks unsettled her. We had lots of kiddies and DD took Mooloo's DGD and they both looked really good :T:T:T Lots of comments on the four pumpkins that DD carved but the night ended with tears as some yobs deliberately destroyed the biggest and best one:mad::mad::mad:

Just waking up but Im seriously tired and have my very own witch hovering around. Therefore I think OS will be minimal but did get quite a bit done. Plus Kids are at work and school so I can reclaim my kitchen:j:j:j
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed, DW loaded & breakfast eaten.
Chicken & mushroom pie for tea tonight, even more determined to stretch the meals as we had some bad news last night re our financial situation, still hopefully it is only for a month or 2.
Tonight's plans (if I can stay awake) include finding more stuff to put on ebay & knitting more mittens & matching scarves. Yesterday someone gave me 8 balls of fluorescent pink mohair wool that she found at the tip, I have no idea what to make with it, lol, hopefully inspiration will strike. I was also given a set of square silicon cupcake cases, I think these will be nice for making candles in.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • Morning,

I'm not doing to well today. Yesterday I started going woozy at times and today my Low BP seems to have kicked back with avengance and I nearly fainted twice this morning. It's been months since I was this bad... It's very odd!

So apart from getting a loaf on, I think I have to take it extra careful today and make sure I take it easy... DH is so worried he nearly wouldn't leave for work this morning...

    Morning everyone,

It is damp and dismal here this morning and beginning to smell all autumnal.
Think I will still peg out the washing though as it actually dried yesterday.

DS has rugby training tonight and DD1 has dancing so there will be a lot of taking and fetching to do and then I have my ballet lesson.

Tea tonight is some more of the left over pork!

Hugs to all that need them.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    morning!

my one day off in 7 today:j

Am up early as I'm taking the car to the garage for its'urgent recall' test about the fuel tank. My sisters coming with me and we're doing a spot of charity shopping in Ludlow.:)

Later we're off to visit DS1 - he's down in the dumps due to having no car. He loved his car poor thing. I'm not looking forward to visiting his flat though - its the sort of place Kim and Aggie need to pay a visit to:eek::D

Havent decided whats for dinner yet - we're trying to have a use up week and not do much shopping so will try and be inventive.

WM is on but its damp here so will use the airer again and finish it off in the TD.

House needs a good vac but it will have to wait.

(((hugs))) to the insomniacs and poorly people x
    Do what you love :happyhear

Good Morning all, a new month and most of the year gone.Where has it dissappeared to I wonder ? the older I get the quicker the time goes.NSD today but I do have to pop to the bank after the school run.I bet MSD is looking down from wherever and is pleased at how we have all coped over the past year.We have 'battened down the hatches and tightenened our belts' and carried on.Thats what's so good about this site and our mutual support, which helps out the poorlies and those who aren't feeling so good.Well done chums I wish there was a 'pat on the back' button for you all.Well I have the school run to organise this morning so I'd better get a wriggle on
    Cheers fellow OSers

We were up with the larks, too; littlies up earlier than usual as it's a bit lighter again.

Half done food stocktake so got to finish that when DS at school, plus siding ironing, doing a load of towels, start soup for tea and start off a second jar of sloe gin if I've enough money for some cheap gin! :D

Hope the poorlies and insomniacs feel better soon, including juliegeorgiana xo

TTFN, will try to pop back later.
